It's All Over Now - back in 1964 - I was hooked ever since

It probably wasn't the first but the first one I remember hearing repeatedly on the radio was Emotional Rescue- I must have been about 13. Didn't think much of it but a couple years later a friend gave me an eight track with a lot of their hits and the rest is history.

Same as BluzDude......I was nine years old in 1964, riding down the streets of Martinsville, VA, with my dad, and IT'S ALL OVER NOW came on the car radio.

One of those "everything else stopped" moments.

The very next day I went to a downtown record store called The Music Bar, bought that song as well as the TELL ME 45. I felt like I was the only kid my age in town who was now suddenly hip to the Rolling Stones.

When SATISFACTION came out the following year is when my friends caught up to the Stones, and then I was even more smug: "Hey, I've been a fan for a year...."

:-)

First song I remember hearing was Hang Fire at a New Year's party sometime in the mid eighties.

The first one I remember was Jumping Jack Flash in 1968. I was 7 then but my older brother was often singing it around the house at the time of its release

I had a good start, Sympathy For The Devil from Altamont 1969, on some rock documentary I recorded on VHS in mid 80s
EDIT: or come to think of - that was just after getting Dirty Work on tape

It was the summer of 1965, and I was marooned at summer camp. I had told my parents that I didn't mind not being at hame for my 11th birthday, but I must have been kidding myself. I felt forsaken and lonely. Then I heard a voice singing from across the yard. It sounded like, "Happy Birthday- on me!" I followed the sound to a counselor's cabin. She told me the singer was really saying, "Have Mercy." Then she showed an album cover, and taught me the names of the Stones. Finally, she gave me a hug, and told me to go to lunch. I felt like my molecules were being rearranged.

Aaah Rockman..... LOL.

Come On. My best friend had four older siblings who used to buy all the records that we used to spend all day listening to - and that was one of them. They also used to buy The Rolling Stones fan magazine with photos in it that set me off endlessly drooling at a tender age over Mick and Brian.

Haven't looked back since.

you didn't think keith was cute??!

i didn't care much for brian but for some reason, i really wanted him to get credit for a song's vocals. i assigned him as tears go by - i thought he was singing it. i was 14. dumb.

my first stones tunes were shattered and miss you - on the radio a lot in '78. just discovering rock and roll.

>> you didn't think Keith was cute??! <<

don't worry LQ - "cute" was never quite the word for any of the Stones,
but i was holding down the Keithsmitten end of things right from the get-go.
who knew it would turn out to be the habit of a lifetime :E

I am sure it must have been Satisfaction when I was a little kid in the early '70's.

On a related note, I vividly remember the impact of Satisfaction when it was used in Apocalypse Now. Remember the guys grooving to it on the boat? I would have been middle school age seeing that move for the fist time, I remember just being knocked out.

The End by the Doors too, very powerful.

Ditto. Probably first heard under the bedclothes on a cheap transistor tuned to Radio Luxembourg.

Being aware that it was the Stones:

It was BROWN SUGAR

on the hitparade in 1971.

"Here's some hot stuff from the wild boys", the man on the radio introduced this number, and it kind of thunderstruck me and I knew that's the real thing.

Around and Around: My then-seven-year old older brother got 12 x 5 for Christmas in 1964 (I was 4). He played it on some portable record player in our basement in New Jersey.

She's a rainbow is the first I am certain of as probably many Danes my age. The Danish television used the song in Super Carla a 5 sequence for children in 1968. But I have probably heard other songs before this though I can't remember.

Nope. But my allegiance to Mick changed to Keith in the late 1980s - and I haven't looked back since!

I remember having Ninteenth Nervous Breakdown blow my little seven-year-old mind when I heard it on my friend Randy's mother's car radio in 1966.
