One of the big, big trees has fallen - glad I got to see him live three times, sad that he never really got compensated according to his influence.

Peace, peace! he is not dead, he doth not sleep -
He hath awakened from the dream of life -
'Tis we, who lost in stormy visions, keep
With phantoms an unprofitable strife,
And in mad trance, strike with our spirit's knife
Invulnerable nothings. -We decay
Like corpses in a charnel; fear and grief
Convulse us and consume us day by day,
And cold hopes swarm like worms within our living clay.

Sad news RIP Bo

It's a sad day. Usually I do not react when I read all these RIP's but this one is a different story.
For me Bo was a real originator of the rock music as we know it today. For me he is the second most important cat next to Chuck Berry. Chuck & Bo, they did it.
I was even a Bo fan in the 70's before I discovered Da Stones. Remember when I discovered Stones and noticed that they are into Bo's Beat, woow, this Stones band must be a good one as they do Bo stuff.....

Well, living in a remote part of the world I had the pleasure to get him live only once, but the most important thing for me is that I did see him perform.

I am so sad to hear these news. I have taken Bo Diddley and his riffs as granted, part of my backbone, kept me going. I saw him in Montreaux mid 90's when he had operated his back, still he was great on stage and handing out so much energy to the crowd. Met him backstage and got some great memories. Last time I saw Bo was April 2005 in London and Dublin. Had some great time with him alone backstage then too and he was such a genuine perforemer and also very friendly. See reports about my experiencs here: [www.iorr.org]

Rest In Peace Bo. Miss You!

That's sad news. I had a ticket for a show in 2006, unfortunaly because poor ticket sales, the show was canceled. So never again got the chance to see him live.
