does anyone knows of there are plans to release the 25x5 documentary?

Not likely...but I don't think it would be hard to source it from somewhere.
I'm certain somebody around here will be able to advise.

Somebody ought to make an updated version of that...We could have had 45x5.
Maybe they're waiting for 50x5 ;^)

This was a brilliant documentary. I have the VHS. The documentary is still relevant. Everything post 89 has been more of the same, in a way. The only drama after that was Bill´s departure. So the documentary captures all the most important aspects in the Stones history.

It's an absoloute must-own, but it's 19 years out of date now. No chance of an offical DVD release, though there are bootleg versions around, plus you cold always just convert it to DVD if you had the equitment.

There is no point in re-releasing it.

25x5 is pretty outdated and the 2002 German/French "Let It Bleed" documentary (THE definitive Stones documentary) is much better.

It´s not outdated at all. What really new has happened since 1989/90? 25X5 focuses in the early days anyway.

[pointing to the above responses lest they be overlooked -
Let It Bleed is an update of 25x5, and it rocks!]

What's with the numbers thing anyway? I've always heard 12X5 as Twelve By Five, not twelve times five.

If it was 25X5 wouldn't Licks could have been considered 40X4?

no. they considered calling it "31x5 + 9x4",
but that doesn't have a very snappy ring to it.

if they would release it with a ton of bonus interviews and footage i would surely dish out the cash, of course all the bonus stuff would have to be never before seen or forget it then

5x5 means 5 songs by 5 stones
12x5 means 12 songs by 5 stones
25x5 means 25years by 5 stones

I've frankly given up on virtually any of these videos EVER being remastered and released. If it actually occurs, then its a major bonus ie. RNR Circus, Gimme Shelter.

40 years, with 4 Stones left (I know it's truly down to 3 but come on, Ronnie is the 'other' guitar player and he's been there the longest).

40 years, with 4 Stones left = 31x5 + 9x4. or how about 1x6 + 30x5 + 9x4 -
what it lacks in catchiness it makes up in historical accuracy :E
