I heard that he was sleeping on Joe Crede's couch for a while there...

Sorry...If your not a baseball fan from the Chicago area the pevious comment makes no sense...but I just couldn't resist!

Begging your pardon but you have heard of Google, he said rhetorically. (Steve Perry) Why polute a Stones board with queries about a talentless hack?

ChrisM: Steve Perry is one of the most respected song writers out today. Obviously you haven't been around long.

Respected by whom precisely? I meant no disrespect to you personally tippy, it's just that I don't see his relevance at all here and everytime I hear his voice I cringe! Oh, and I have been around longer than I care to admit!

Powerful set of pipes - if you like what he sings or not may be a different story.

He's the former singer for Journey (the hits era), in case some didn't know.

You mean the future (or not) San Francisco Giant?

Journey, Styx, Survivor (Eye of the Tiger), Loverboy, Foreigner, and the Scorpions all had singers that sounded alike to me, whiny, quasi-falsetto, even sappy sounding. When I was a kid, my brother and I used to race to the radio to turn it off when one of these bands came on!

I don't mean to disrespect others tastes (i.e., "some of my best friends were Journey fans," heh-heh...), I just couldn't hack these guys.

I don't really love or hate any of these bands. Some great songs (Stone In Love, Lorelai, etc.), some real losers (Mr. Roboto,I Wanna Know What Love Is, etc.), but it was background music to some of the best times of my life in the early 80's.

Journey before Steve Perry, with Greg Rollie and Aynsley Dunbar, was a pretty kick ass band imho. They just didn't have any commercial success. The Steve Perry version of Journey.thumbs down...Again,just my opinion.

Ever wonder why there is hardly any footage of the Stones at Soldier Field in Chicago from 1978??? All the film was wasted on these douchebags!!! Check this link out...

Mugging for the camera! "Hi Mom"???....The Stones were still back at their hotel suite snorting lines off of super models asses....

the german born singer of the german band the scorpions sounds like an american singer? no he doesn't. anyone with a brain can tell klaus meine is german and sounds nothing like the other bands you mentioned. on top of the scorpions were a hard rock/bordering on metal and the rest of the bands you mentioned are basically just rock. anyways i think its pretty easy to tell the difference in these bands
