Doncha just love Charlie.....

Chris Evans : So, how do you get paid, being in the Rolling Stones, every week, every month?
Charlie : When we are on tour we get a per diem of $100 in cash. Ronnie loves that, having cash every day. Me? I don't spend it, I've still got some from two tours ago!

Funny.

I loved his comparison of his lifestyle to Bertie Wooster.

Brilliant Stuff! the way he comes across is that he doesn't seem to know how much he is loved and how much of an icon he is. Keep it up Charlie.

British comedy, it seems.

I assume "Charlie" is the one on the right.

A great interview! Chris Evans devoted over 30mins to him, and played "Sympathy" and "Loving Cup" from the SAL CD. I've basically stopped myself from listening to anything from the movie / soundtrack so to hear these two on the radio was amazing. They both sound great, and I can't wait to see the movie next wednesday at the London IMAX!!

a great sense of humour, from Charlie, comparing himself to Bertie.

Thanks for posting that link - great stuff. No one can help but love Charlie. He's just so unbelievably modest and unassuming. I still had the show running after he had left and they kept going on about how wonderful he was and also about the stunning suit he was wearing - best tweed. Isn't that just Charlie?!

I sometimes think his story would be the most interesting of all of them but doubtless his love of privacy precludes an autobiography. I would also love to read/hear more of Shirley's life. A woman who has survived 45 years in such proximity to the Stones must have a tale to tell!

BBC radio is such a drag. Just spent around 35 minutes figuring out how to listen to the Chris Evans show! And I didn't find out.

Only just got round to listening to this and I'm really glad I didsmiling smiley

Charlie was on top form and that means an absolute delight. Wasn't impressed with the SAL tracks: Sympathy is such a pale imitation of its former greatness I wonder that they bother with it anymore. Loving cup is a perfectly good song ruined by these god awful guest spots. I do really like the Some Girls clip seen elsewhere though.

I still haven't been able to listen to it angry smiley At home I get "error on page" and it just sits there laughing at me, and at work I used to have Real Player but they've gone all big brother and no-one can install anything anymore sad smiley

So if anyone's downloaded it anywhere accessible.....

You might have to scrape me off the floor at the end of the tour, but it'll be really good scrapings. - Mick Jagger
