I will have to check them out. I have most of Iggy's albums on Japanese import, from the 80's. Still sound incredible! And Kill City on Green vinyl.

Ok, I have all is discs, and the double Zombie Birdhouse, which is one of my favorites from him. That was the frist time I saw him live (besides his half hearted warm up for the Stones).
What is 1977?? Oficial release??? Where can I get it??
I do have Heavy Liguid, and am so pissed I didn't get the Fun House box set when it was out.
So fill me in on 1977!!!!
I have a live box set from France that has four discs of just live material, Night of the Iguana. Very cool!

Nikolai, i beg to disagree, Soldier is my all time favourite record, but i guess you had to have been around when it was released, it was a big party record with the kids of 1980 And Party is also fun, Iggy live at that period was totally insane, so much shit is written about Iggy by critics with my rock n roll buddies he was the heavyweight champion until the eary 90's but hes still now pretty good

Ok, I ordered it Nikolai! THANKS! It looks like though it is a lot of live stuff rom Night of the Iguana, but has a lot more that isn't on that collection as well. And the alt mixes of the studio stuff. COOL!
You know I like Soldier too! Mr. Dynamite is such a stoner groove, great driving song. Also Knockin 'em Down is fantastic classic Iggy.

Jeesh, can't a guy f-ucking retire. There have been some exceptions here and there, but the quality of his stuff has been pretty mediocre since the mid-80's. Maybe he's done and he realizes it.

Of course he can retire. He pretty much hinted that he was done in the sleevenotes to his last compilation (released through the Daily Mail).
Since Scary Monsters (1980), I'd grade his albums thus:
Let's Dance - 7/10
Tonight - 3/10
Never Let Me Down - 3/10
Tin Machine - 6/10
Tin Machine 2 - 5/10
Black Tie, White Noise - 6/10
Buddha of Suburbia - 9/10
Outside - 10/10
Earthling - 6/10
Hours - 5/10
Heathen - 7/10
Reality - 5/10
To his credit, none of the albums are the same, even the crap ones. And they're all worth hearing.

I've waited long enough to give my opinion about Bowie!
I'm a fan of Bowie (see my username) and I really don't mind if he's going to take it easy. Nothing wrong with it.
I really admire his following albums and periods; Ziggy Stardust, Young Americans and Station to Station. Love to play these albums really loud!
All other albums (post-berlin) aren't that bad, but not my cup of tea.
There's also a whole discussion if he's a chameleon or not. A trendsetter or not. Let it be! He's a real good artist with great ideas about music and image. He has done a good job through the years!!
cheers.
