I really do think that the sound on this production will be top notch. I remember seeing Let's Spend the Night Together in 1983 when it first came out, and was extremely disappointed by the sound quality. Even the Boston Globes movie review said that film was beautifully shot, yet the sound quality left much to be desired.

I hope some on this board gets tickets, and reports in full.
Does the film start off with backstage/Marty preperation or does it start like a concert with backstage footage indispersed between songs. What are the songs, and the order of them. How is the sound quality, and overall band performance. I have to admit, the trailer for this one has me foaming at the mouth, and I indeed hope this is the best stones film since LADIES AND GENTLEMEN

That'll be the early screaming - when Marty and the Stones walk the red carpet.
that sceening unfortunately won't be availlable for Joe Public.

Thanks ... but holy shit, I've just realised something. This board's gonna be expecting reviews !! Aaaaaaaaagh gasp ... I'm gonna have to remain detached and aloof and calm and impartial and objective and all things like that in order to come up with a review of sorts, at least a vaguely sensible one. Errr ...... !!!! Not easy in my case, too much excitement !!

very intriguing ... so ... with these on-line ticket sales
when they say "Reserved tickets can be picked up two hours after ordering
at the Berlinale Internet Counter in the Potsdamer Platz Arkaden shopping centre"
i hope that means "two hours or MORE after ordering", for example three days afterwards?
being such a literal-minded chick is a genuine burden sometimes, but ... i can't help it!
have some popcorn and thanks for any insights :E

Well, you are not alone because I had the same thought :-)

They are very helpful so I have e-mailed them (again) for clarification.

"Reserved tickets can be picked up two hours after ordering"

...thats the earliest time you can pick them up.
they won't be ready if you only ordered them 1 hour before showing up at the counter.

So yes - it means "two hours or MORE after ordering", for example three days afterwards.

btw, I just watched the chief of Berlinale on local tv news.
says the Stones & SAL is stirring a big buzz this year and he's sorry that not all ppl can attend.

OK, they replied and confirmed what open-g says - i.e., you can pick them up several days later. Phew!

Sounds like we have a few people going!

Paulywaul, I'd be interested in your impressions of the audience, what kinds of people are there, and their reactions to the film, and whatever else you want to say, of course!

Sure thang, I'll no doubt put something in writing, as will my companion for this adventure - Beast. But meanwhile, we can hardly contain ourselves, we're just so damm excited. The thing premieres in London on 2nd April; can't speak for Beast, but as for myself - even though London is my home town - I might not be here at that time. The thought of being out & about somewhere or other, where there ain't a movie theatre in sight, at the time Shine A light is released ... well that would be too much to bear. So hence the trip to Berlin. Between the pair of us, we're soooooooooooo psyched !!
