It was Charlie who made me curious, many years ago

Ever since I'm a huge fan (Coltrane, Rollins, Parker, Miles, Chet)

Anyone else?

I don't consider myself a fan of Jazz, but I like names Thelonius Monk and Wes Montgomery.

I am a fan of some jazz, and play a little jazz with a couple groups. I particularly like Grant Green's funky stuff, Cannonball Adderly, some of Miles' electric period, Cuban jazz, Lounge Lizards, Medeski, Martin and Wood, a Vermont group named Vorcza, some Wes Montgomery and some old George Benson (from the groove era-- Body Talk and Cookbook are my faves).

Lately I've just started playing in a trio (organ, guitar, and I play drums) that is playing a lot of that old groove/funk style jazz. I love playing that stuff.

a good starter: Charles Mingus- Oh Yeah.
Stones fans know that Keith covered "Oh Lord Don't Drop That Atomic Bomb On Me", but this feat. the original.
This is BOTH jazz & rock 'n roll. A classic.

Im a huge jazz fan and play in a jazz band myself; I don't care if it's jazz, blues, rock'n roll, swing, calypso, country as long as i like what i hear.

I can listen to beggars b. in the morning, sonny rollins in the afternoon and radiohead in the evening.

If you haven't entered the world of jazz music: there's quite a lot to discover. I like the way Dylan mixes all genres on "Theme Time Radio Hour"...it's (almost) all related...

My friend Mabo Suzuki is jazz sax player.
He sessioned with many artisits in Alphabet City, NYC.
Among them were Sonny Rollins and B.B.King.
Mabo says to me Jaco Pastorius was an exceptional player.

I like it a lot, but is really a mood thing with me, I don't even realise when I play some on my stereo.

Miles, Chet, Garbarek, Bird, and basically everything released by the German label ECM. Just love it. And I'm also a great admirer of Tim Ries, and especially his Rolling Stones Project.

Love jazz especially Miles Davis & John Coltrane. Miles seminal work Kind Of Blue is majestic.

Big big jazz fan.
I like all the classics, but lately I'm deep into the experimental european scene (many based in Berlin), any jazz fan should check the following names; tough stuff, but I swear it's amazing.
-pianists Aki Takase, Sten Sandell, Alex von Schlippenbach
-Trumpetist Axel Dorner
-bass clarinestist Rudi Mahall
-Drumer Paal Nilseen-Love
there are many many more... My prayer to any jazz fan is: don't stop at the 60s or fusion! Best jazz I heard was recorded in the last 5 years.

Not much of a fan of traditional jazz. A little jazz fusion I like. They just opened a new jazz club in San Francisco called Yoshi's. They also have one in Oakland. I would highly recomend the new club to any one in the bay area. Very nice club. A bit pricey, but what isn't around here. Caught a very good guitar player by the name of Mike Stern there a couple weeks ago.

Relatively new fan here - about a year or so - I've been trying to cover all the bases but I know what I don't want to hear - vocals and electric instruments. The exceptions to those would be Jimmy Smith and Mose Allison. But as for the rest... John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Oscar Peterson, Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster, Milt Jackson, Ornette Coleman, Ramsay Lewis, Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Mingus, Coleman Hakins, Dave Brubeck, Herbie Mann... I guess what I like falls under "hard bop" or "soul jazz", but it was all news to me - jazz is one hell of an intimidating genre to get into.

Seriously, I started out by picking out albums with covers that I thought looked cool. And it just so happened that all of those were from the late '50s and early '60s, which was apparently the period I was looking for without even knowing it.

Jelly Roll Morton
Sydney Bechet
Al Jolson
Dave Brubeck to name but a few.

<<< We're all Stonesfans .... any jazz fans ? >>>

Nope, not here. I honestly can't stand 99.99 percent of the stuff myself, but thete are exceptions like jazz fused with blues, and some of the jazz you'd typically here in say New Orleans with real swing or rythmn to it ... I can just about cope with that. Most jazz does however grate on my ear !
