Years ago I sat next to Joe DiMaggio on a plane and he was very friendly. I had no idea who he was and when I was leaving, the flight attendants said "do you know who that was, Joe DiMaggio" and I replied "who's that?"

Living in Los Angeles, I've met quite a few musicians and actors. Most recently I met Robert Smith, Simon Gallup and Jason Cooper form The Cure last night and the 3 members of REM on Thursday.

On a flight to Heathrow I sat next to a blonde and her mum. Both very nice and down to earth people. They told me they were from Australia. The blonde introduced herself as "Hi, I'm Kylie", after I helped her put her hand luggage in the compartment above our seats. We talked about this and that, and only after touch down in London, I realised it was Kylie Minogue. Bet some of the fellas here are a bit envious. (She was not wearing any make-up and looked like the "girl next door")

No, not really! She looked like a typical mum, of someone in their mid thirties. Kylie was wearing a cap, jeans, t-shirt and a knitted jacket. Her mum had a nice skirt and jacket. Nothing outrageous about the two ladies. They were very nice travelling company, though. But not very tall, either of them.
Ya fancy her mum, or Kylie? Be honest!

Well, the mum didn't look like someone who fancies a threesome, at least not including her daughter. So I suggest you try approaching them one at a time! And good luck with that one! (both of'em!) And if ya're up to it, perhaps you wanna write a post about how things turned out for the three of ya...

Sticking just to musicians but including a couple of tenuous ones (i.e. I shared an elevator with Brian May and used a stall next to Pete Doherty, although we did exchange a few words) my list is as follows (I have omitted the obvious backing musicians).

Mick Jagger
Keith Richards
Charlie Watts
Ronnie Wood
Bill Wyman
Mick Taylor
Slash
The Edge
Dave Gilmor
Bo Diddley
Jeff Beck
Sheryl Crow
Pete Doherty
Bob Geldorf
Brian May
Roger Taylor
David Bowie
Bjork
Jay Kay
Marianne Faithful
Noel Gallagher
James Blunt
David Gray
Andrea Corr
Rod Stewart
Mick Fleetwood

the fact that you have to "omit the obvious backing musicians" from your bragging, you strike me as being a complete and utter wan*er.....

If you mean by met, spoken to...

Jimmy Page (twice, once in the street, once at a record store launch).

Robert Plant (three times, apres gig, once at his hotel bar and hung out for several hours with him and band, with others).

Alice Cooper (outide his hotel).

Iron Maiden (whole band at an apres concert signing).

Dio (whole band at an apres concert signing).

Lenny Kravitz (three times). One time he invited me and a group of other to a club apres gig at Edinburgh Playhouse on Mama Said tour, really nice hombre).

AC/DC (whole band at their hotel, Brian Johnston era).

David A. Stewart (ex-The Eurthymics). I used to work for his Record label.

Perry Farrell (ex-Jane's Addiction), with his delicious wife last year apres gig.

Martin Chambers (The Pretenders). He lives in my area and used to see him regularly socially. He went out with an old girl house mate too (I intrioduced them, lol). Lovely bloke, down to earth and very funny.

Prince (fleetingly at the O2 apres gig, no conversation).

Annie Lennox (ex-The Eurthymics). In the street once briefly, she used to live in the adjacent area).

There are others, but that is who I remember at the moment.
