don't know, but this guys been known to create fake Exile and SF promos(talented though he is). So its hard to document authenticity.IMHO.

If it is fake, it's quite a forgery. Sounds just like Mick, and it sounds like a glorious out-take, from the late 70's I would guess.

But the fact that he cuts the song off makes me suspicious.

I'm suspicious as well - and it's brilliantly done, if it's fake.
It it isn't; then it has to be from the 1978 period. Just listen to "Mac"...
Could be 1978 Woodstock rehearsals, could be RCA Studios 78....or could be hoax.

Another thing I just noticed: when he puts the needle on the record, there is absolutely no sound of the stylus making contact with the vinyl (like there normally would be). Then you hear what sounds like the whir of a cassette machine. That sound could be on the record itself, of course, but it adds to my doubts...

Definetly sounds like Charlie and Bill. Soundwise, I would guess late sventies - undercover era.

Good catch. Sounds like not only the whirring of a tape machine, but also the clicking sound
when the cassette machine is first turned on.

And listen closely to the voice the counting intro, "One, two, three. four..." It doesn't sound like Mick to me.

If it's fake, it's a well done fake.

Sounds like a combo of @#$%& and Fiji Jim. I took it for granted it's authentic stones, now I need to listen to it 10-12 times, Funny, the only un-stonesy thing to me is the drumming, that's what everyone else thinks is Charlie hands down.

Meanwhile I think it´s just 95% Stones - so it´s not Stones at all.

well ... i am a very literal-minded chick, but don't you think the producer of this clip just chose
a random video to show along with the audio? i mean: i don't think we're supposed to think
that single is the acetate, any more than we're supposed to think the record cover shown is the real one.

as for the "is it the Stones" ... well, it's for sure not an outtake; outtakes are finished tracks
(i told you i'm a literal-minded chick!). until further notice i guess i'll subscribe to
the "either a 78-or-so rehearsal/early take or a well-done fake" hypothesis.

update: in the morning light ... if it were the Stones we wouldn't have so many doubts;
ergo it's a well-done fake.

sure would be nice to hear the entire thing,huh? I could see why there might be a fear of the track being booted but a little more of it might make it easier to nail down. Theres another track thats been circulating purported to be from the "edward" sessions called "Can't Get No Nookie".(I believe also on youtube) I heard this track for the first time in the mid seventies on a album called "The Masked Mauraders" but I think it could have been faked. So I guess until Mack Jigger comes clean its a mystery!!

Masked Marauders WAS a fake. It was put together by the staff at Rolling Stone magazine.

that would explain that!! of course in those days my brain was probably a little easier to fool!!
