No Security Tour, '99, Tampa

Show was in early March. Was just playing my bootleg tape (in my head, that is).

Staggering show.

Anyone else remember that show as well as I do?

Curious.

I was there. The B-Stage with Rambler was incredible.

Yes Yes. he No Security tour was great. Was there in Columbus, Cleveland and Toronto.
Funny thing. During the tour alot of people on the board (mathijs) would put it down or mock Ronnie's and Keith's playing. Now people look back and tell how great it is. Critics on this board make up your mind.

The setlist was very challenging espec. in the beginning of the tour. If I remember well it became more standard later on in the tour.
Musically I won't rate it 'great' though. Listen to Ronnie his playing, quite weak all over the whole tour I think.

The B-Stage absolutely rocked this tour. To get "When The Whip Comes Down" and "Rambler" right after one another--was a treasure.

And don't forget 'Route 66'! My favorite song of the show.

Oooh yes indeed.

Two version that rocked: opening night Oakland and Shepards Bush.

Flew from Caracas to see them in Miami. Was blown away by the B-Stage tunes! Midnight Rambler was amazing! All in all an incredible show!

Good memories of Tampa. First time for my two sons to see the Stones. We attended Memphis a short time later. Good tour.

I always thought that indoor stage made more sense than the current one. The seats behind the stage are excellent. I've seen the Who (80), Page / Plant (95), & the Police (07) from seats just behind the stage and they were great. There's nothing so dramatic about their last indoor stage that warranted the closing of those seats.

I'm under the impression that Mick, and perhaps others
onstage, prefer not to have so many people behind
their backs.
This was discussed on another thread, sorry, don't
remember which thread, when someone brought up the
idea of the Stones performing "in the round."

any seat behind the stage sucks. I sat behind them in Toronto. Terrible. They perform to the front and I don't blame them. Stupidest post I ever read.

To each his own, I suppose. I do believe you hated the seats, any need for the insults?

One of the luckiest events I can remember.

I caught a guitar pick from Keith.

I lost it for a while, but then found it.

What a relief!!!!!!!!!!!!

No need to. The shows were great, but Ronnie, by his own admission was MIA for a lot of shows around that time.

Mick has said in interviews he doesnt mind doing a few songs on a b-stage but doesnt feel comfortable with the idea of an entire gig 'in the round'

They did it just for those of us who had flown over from Europe, my son!

It was a great show. Loved how Mick wasn't at the mic ( he left it in the mic stand) during the guitar break for live with me and had to run back and made it just a split second too late and picked it up by singing real fast. Sadly the only boot I found of this show isn't great quality at all.

Don't remember that.

Send me your boot, you can message me I think.
