Still cool to get the Paint it black stereo. Check out the review on Amazon.co.uk: it's obviously an add, and says the collection "boasts such classic tracks as... stairway to heaven". Can you believe this? Who writes these things?

The only semi rare tracks would be Play With Fire, Satisfaction and Get Off Of My Cloud in stereo which are found on the London Hot Rocks from the mid80's.
Also, I don't think Have You Seen Your Mother has ever been released in stereo?
What would be nice is to release The Last Time in stereo!

I know some people are attached to compilations they grew up with or whatever but releasing this sort of stuff is such a kick in the balls to the fans.. not blaming the Stones or anything but it just seems like such a case of someone trying to make a quick buck at the expense of collectors. Feel the same way about Jump Back, Made In the Shade and all that. Release something that we don't already have..

I pre-ordered this a loooooooooooooooong time ago, and I sure as heck hope that I ordered the Limited Edition version. The limited edition features a pop-up packaging on the case, which is the same size as a standard case, but when opened it pops up.

How often can you re-package the same songs? This is flogging a dead horse for the Xmas market. I suspect it's a release that's out of the Stones' control however.

FECK!!! There's MORE versions??? I bought the normal one yesterday. Today I ordered the jake-box edition. Are there really more than these two versions out on CD? ('Cause then I gotta spend even moe money on this).

Kent, The Jake-Box edition is the limited edition of it. You're ordering both? Man that IS a die-hard! Even I won't do that, though usually I only get the limited edition versions...

I'm ordering both yes. I mean, I have the normal one, but not the limited edition yet. I ordered it though. Arriving in a few days. The way I buy Stones CDs is this: I have to buy it on release date, and if a limited edition is out on the release date, I buy that one. I can always buy the other one later (Because that's the one that will be normal later on, and thus easy to get - As opposed to limited editions). For example I bought the new Mick Jagger compilation on release date in the limited edition. Later I will buy the normal one. I have lots of releases more than one time. A Bigger Bang I have 3 times. The normal version, the limited edition and the normal one once more (I got it from the concert arranger, when I was number one in the queue for Horsens - So that's special to me). Bridges To Babylon I have 3 times. The normal one, the one in the slipcase and the one with a special interview disc. Generally the CDs from the sixties are expensive for me as they've been out numerous times. I have about 3 or 4 of the 1984 London relases (Note: I mostly buy the Stones on CD. That's what I collect. Not LPs so much. Of them I only have about 10). Of the 1986 versions I have almost all of them. Of the 2002 digipacks I have all, but 2 or 3 of them. In the same series I have about 10 of the jewel case editions. I haven't even begun to get the Japanese versions of the 2002 remasters. Let alone the earlier Japanese versions of the sixties albums.

BTW: What is a jake-box anyway?

BTW: All the songs are in the normal versions we all know. Nothing is in some rare mono or stereo mix that hasn't been out for a long time.

Sorry but I'd love to know, song by song, if "Cloud ", " Play With Fire", "Satisfaction" and "Paint it Black" are in true stereo.
The reason for this is that I am not as hardcore as you and I haven't bought all the CDs. So I have none of these songs in stereo (except on boots) and if Rolled Gold was a package where I'd find them all at once, I'd surely buy it.
