You've got to hand it to Bill, he leaves the Greatest Rock and roll band off all time to do what he's doing now. He has his music with the Rythem kings (like a hobby) and his metal detecting thing. He just can't want all the fame like a rock star, that makes him a star as far as I'm concerned, good for you Bill.

Gotta love Bill. He is one hell of a character ;o)
There was an interesting article in the Daily Mail yesterday about some of our rock stars 'geeky' interests. Daltery and his carp fishing, Rod and his model railways, Ronnie and his, er, stamps and the amazing Bill and his metal detector.

Unfortunately, Rhythm Kings and everything else he does are probably more than just a hobby. In an interview (perhaps a year ago or so, don't remember where) he stated that he has to keep on working because he simply doesn't have enough money. Pension he's getting was something ridiculous 50 pounds or so a month. Of course, that doesn't mean that he doesn't like playing good old rock'n'roll, writing books or marketing metal detectors but still I feel sorry for Bill...
He came to prominence as a rock star, but these days, he's into metal. Does he detect any metal in the music that his former bandmates make currently? ;-)
