i did notice the subliminal messages in the
cover art to the classic 'Urban Hymns' album, by The Verve,
before it was flagged up, afew years ago.

Nick McCabe is looking in a different direction to
the rest of the band
(reference to the break up in the McCabe/Ashcroft relationship)

and the 'love' spelt out in the trees.

(shot in Richmond Park, incidently.)

I was gonna say that...

i never noticed the '40' in Forty Licks before today,
but i spotted 'Love', in Urban Hymns years ago,
before an indepth- analysis (lol) in Q/Uncut/Mojo

Who decieded to create a "love" message in the Verve album cover...hahahah...it's completely bullocks.

It took a month or so after 40 Licks was released, but I picked up on the 40 eventually. Now it pops out at me.

I also never noticed the arrow in the FedEx logo until a friend pointed it out to me. Now I think that the FedEx logo is the coolest thing ever, and I go to a FedEx counter every day just to admire the logo and ship crap to myself. I'm totally over the UPS delivery men in those sexy brown shorts now.

Reminds me of an old joke about someone teaching someone else how to chant for all good things to come their way.

Well, that's how I felt after staring at the Verve album cover for 20 minutes.

I get your point Monkeylad, but you sure put in a lot of effort to get to the payoff on that one.

Oh, and Adrian-L, though I don't have the eyes, or imagination for the L-O-V-E, thanks a million for bringing up one of my favorite albums of all time. I'm gonna give it a listen this afternoon!

Yes, Urban Hymns is a great album . . . and something of a money-maker for Jagger-Richards, too. I overthink a lot of things, to a fault, but not my appreciation of good music.

.....Adrian, if I was on a 3 day meth binge I could probably see that "LOVE" in the trees, as well as men with binoculars.......but sober, and squinting, I still don't see sh!t.
