Should I go to the Rod Stewart concert next Sunday here in Rotterdam, or not?

In the ask the editor section of this months UNCUT magazine it states that a Faces tour is booked for next year, all the Faces albums are to be re-issued in advance etc. etc.

Yeah, go. I've seen him 11 times since 1977. Lots of energy - a good mix of hits, covers, and obscurities.

I've seen Rod Stewart for the 3rd time, yesterday. He was amazing great. Nearly 2 hous hits nonstop. Only Mick Jagger is a better male live performer. The best thing was, I could catch this time a football with orginal autograph.

I want to get drunk and see rod the mod!!

Yeah, the soccer balls are a great trademark at the Rod Stewart gigs. I've never even been close to catching one. Great picture. Congrats!

I catched that ball outside the arena. I was about in the middle of the concerthall in the lower seats section.

Will see RS (Rod Stewart) in Ahoy tonight. Looking forward to it.

Didcatch a ball back in '77 (I think), at the SD Sports Arena. Then I was very angry because my brother used it to play with his friends. Thne lost it.

Rod will be here in Paris on the 18th.

Mrs. Phleghm has recently got the gig going bug again and fancied seeing Rod The Mod, so off we went to the dreaded twickenaham, dreadfull day with transport there and back, poured out of the heavans, nothing but a piece of plastic to keep me dry and i feckin loved it, nothing new was created under the sun (or rain) but he knows how to put on a great show. The Pretenders put in a fine set as support as well.

Now a faces reunion would be fun. Bill Wyman seems to be the one most likely to fill in on bass, but ronnie lane wa far more than a bassist, he wrote some great nuggets. maybe Bill will bring his detector and find them

Indeed it is. I mentioned this when the "Stones to tour next year (2008)" rumours started flying around. Ronnie's son will be on bass.

Does anyone else know anything about the Faces tour???? I thought it would be bigger news. then again i suppose its only a rumour.

Well with all the fuss over Led Zepplin I'm sure the Faces would be very popular. Not as big but still popular.
I would also give Rod some much needed cred if the gigs were good.....

I just wonder how much of the magic they will try to bring back with them, like having a bar with bartender on stage with them (they probably all quit drinking except ronnie), passing the booze to the audience (yea, like they can do that today) and Rod have his microphone taped to the mic stand, either way, If there is a show in town, I'll be there.

The Rodfather was a lotta fun.

As to music it wasn't the best show I've attended this decade (or even this week actually, Joe Bonamassa took that spot) but is was great fun. Ronnie could be seen in some of the footage on the screen. Rod was happy, funny, entertaining and still the womanizer.

Odd audience too, lotsa elderly women :-)
