Album Description
Two disc (CD + NTSC/Region 0 DVD) set recorded and filmed live in London in 1974 at a concert in support of Ronnie Wood's first solo album, 'I've Got My Own Album To Do' Ronnie Wood was, at the time, a member of the Faces as well as a solo artist, and he was soon to become the 'new boy' in the Rolling Stones. Wood's band on this live outing featured many of the musicians who helped him on the album, including Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, Small Faces/Faces keyboardist Ian McLagan and the exceptional talents of session musicians Willie Weeks (bass) and Andy Newmark (drums). Also features a guest appearance from the Faces' vocalist Rod Stewart. Both the Cd and DVD feature an exclusive track with digitally remastered audio and video from Ronnies personal archive. The release includes an eight-page booklet with hand written liner notes by Ronnie Wood and previously unseen photos.

From the Artist
"When I made my first album in 1974 at the Wick studios in Richmond there was never any time to lose and this record was made on quite a speedy process by many of my extremely talented friends. We took the songs from the record straight onto stage. This album is the result of what happened when we first took the music of "I've Got My Own Album To Do" public. Thus the First Barbarians were born. I'm very proud of the work Jesse, Jamie and Katy have done in restoring this, originally humbly filmed and recorded documentation of that night at the Kilburn State." - Ronnie Wood

yayy yayy yayy
until further notice i'm not counting on the footage really being the whole Kilburn show,
but whatever it is: i'm ready!

the Jointrip Bootleg only includes a handful of numbers,
and on the audio that's in circulation there's a weird interruption in Shirley.
it'll be so *fine* if those blanks have been filled on this release!
but even if they're not: i'm happy! i love this show, and it deserves official release.

Cool! Beautiful front cover too!

Like I've said before, I wish Mick and Keith -- especially Mick -- would learn something from Ronnie and his "personal archive" releases.

>> learn something from Ronnie and his "personal archive" releases <<

... indeed, especially if part of what's learned is that people actually *buy* these releases.

Hopefully this will end up on iTunes like BURIED ALIVE did. Much more affordable than paying import prices.

So this is just being released as an import? So happy to see Ronnie releasing this stuff. Stones are really the only older band I can think of that hasn't released vintage shows like this, maybe Mick will take notice of what the trends are.

I'm in the USA. BURIED ALIVE was only available as an import here. I bought two copies to get both editions, but later saw it on iTunes for less than $10 for the entire album. In the case of KILBURN, I'd rather cherry pick a few tracks than have the entire album. $4.00 being better than $20.

What is the difference in the other version of Buried Alive, isn't it just the artwork?

Wait this is the same as Buried Alive? I thought Buried Alive was recorded in Maryland or something?

Ah that's great news. It'll probably be released on vinyl in a few months just like Buired Alive....I'll take vinyl over CD
The bootleg DVD is so grainy, nice to get the real thing now

And if this is an import only the DVD probably won't play here in the states! sad smiley

>> Wait this is the same as Buried Alive? <<

nope - Buried Alive is from the the 1979 New Barbarians tour.
this one is from one of the shows Ronnie Wood & his gallant cohorts did at Kilburn in 1974
to promote I've Got My Own Album to Do. the title "First Barbarians" is humour -
at the time the line-up was called Ron Wood & Band.

>> take notice of what the trends are <<

no doubt - so won't it be fine if the trend is "a whole lot of people buy these releases!"

A lot more people will buy Jaggers Best Of - including Charmed Life, than this Kilburn CD. Which is really really bizarre

To Hound Dog's question about the two editions of BURIED ALIVE from Wooden Records. The difference is just the covers and liner notes corrections. The CDs are the same. I also hung onto my Swingin' Pig bootleg CD of the same show with the same title. I'm a collector, whaddya expect? Sure Jagger's Best of will sell better. Rhino gets distributed in all the major chains. Very few retailers will stock a Wooden Records release.

Where can you buy the Region 1 version? Is there such a version?

>> I'm a collector, whaddya expect? <<

smile: and i'm a frustrated collector wannabe.
i've got Buried Alive with the original artwork and can't find the corrected version anywhere -
places where they display it on line with the new art end up shipping the original version
(and where i live the only way to get ahold of it at all is by importing it from an on-line vendor).
if anyone locates someplace that stocks it with the new art ... let me know! please and thank you :E

>> Where can you buy the Region 1 version? <<

the description i first saw on line said it's region free, which would make sense -
Wooden Records is just a small company, and probably wouldn't horse around
with multiple versions for different regions.

ah here it is on amazon.com: [www.amazon.com]

Two disc (CD + NTSC/Region 0 DVD) so that'll play on most people's equipment.
(and they've corrected all those errors they had in the product description too - good!)
