"Previously unpublished 8mm amateur colour film footage of The Rolling Stones performing at Madison Square Garden, New York on July 24, 25 and 26th, 1972; the silent footage on 3 reels, each approx. 26 mins. long (approx. 1hr 18 mins in total) in three cannisters numbered 1-3 represents a visual documentary of the event, shot by a fan Michael Geary from the first row of the auditorium; the footage is made-up of a series of close-ups of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman, Mick Taylor and to a lesser extent Charlie Watts and the interaction of the various band members on stage together; it captures Jagger's electrifying performance and several costume changes, and follows all three guitarists but in particular Taylor's and Richards' playing and at least four guitar changes; the final footage shot on Jagger's 30th birthday on July 26th documents the lead singer receiving a large birthday cake and champagne on stage and singing with opening artist Stevie Wonder and his band; accompanied by several documents concerning the provenance."
