The Rolling Stones Carol / Can I Get A Witness Single Sided Decca Acetate (UK)
B38727 – The Rolling Stones Carol / Can I Get A Witness Single Sided Decca Acetate (UK)
£995.00

An original single sided Decca Records Advance Test Recording Acetate containing the Rolling Stones songs Carol and Can I Get A Witness. The songs were released in France in 1964 as a single on Decca Records. The blue Decca label has printed text including the artist and song names. It also has the name ‘Trevor’ and date ‘6/2/64’ printed on the label. This is referring to Decca sound engineer Trevor Fletcher and the date the recording was produced. The 45rpm has also been covers with ‘xx’ ad replaced with ‘33’.
The reverse of the acetate has been covered with tape due to large parts of the lacquer coming away. The tape on the reverse extends to the run in grove on the front which also has several flecks of the lacquer missing. The label has a small section missing. There are numerous surface marks over the record. There is surface noise consisting of pops and hissing over both the tracks. Each track also has one skip on. The condition is good.[/b]

RECORD COLLECTOR 539 ---- Xmas edition 2022

From the banding it looks more like a 4 track pressing which would be a tad strange.

"It's OK not to have written Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground...You just have to be the best version of you."

Timeless advice for musicians, artists, writers etc.. So many expend effort early on mimicking our cultural heroes until the light-bulb goes off and one realizes what they have to offer the world is who they uniquely are

Thanks Rockeeeee, excellent stuff! Did you get to see Ben when he was down? I loved him at Ronnie’s gigs in 2019 but was lucky to see him at the Ealing Club in 2018, which was extraordinary. I think it was organized by the Argentinians, and it was a crazy good show, which eventually descended into delightful chaos near the end as Ben tried his hand at some Stones songs, with folks from the audience going up to sing. The Ali Mac band had played there earlier in the week, and I had seen that show too, and Ali must have lived close by as he wandered in to see the show as well. Such a lovely guy, such a ridiculously good player.

Rolling Fork, the birthplace of
Muddy Waters hardest hit by Tornado

The place hardest-hit by a powerful tornado that tore through
rural Mississippi appeared to be Rolling Fork, a Delta town known
as the birthplace of the blues singer Muddy Waters, where flooding
and tornadoes have long been concerns.
