Ever really listen to Steve Cropper guitar parts? He played some of the most wildest, weirdest stuff. The outro to Hang Em High for one. I remain completely amazed someone could put that together and make such atonal playing sound so great. Those notes he plays sound like they are coming from outer space. Combine it with Duck Dunn's bass and Booker T's organ, not to mention the drums, and those guys slayed every time. And the number of artists they backed up at Stax was incredible.

That article on Green is kind of lacking in facts. That they jumped from the Peter Green days of Mac right to the Lindsey Buckingham stage is an example. What about Bob Welch days (I thought they sucked)? Kind of sloppy journalism even if it attempts to point out something valid (that they eventually became super stars).

And then there is "manger" but I suppose these days misspellings are skipped right over by editors.

I quoted ones, that I hate it when bands continued with the same name, when the line up is totally different.......

Well I take that back concerning the Fleetwood Mac .

“Peter was asked why did he call the band Fleetwood Mac. He said, 'Well, you know I thought maybe I'd move on at some point and I wanted Mick and John (McVie) to have a band.'

I like the old photos of cowboys standing around the KSIS Sedalia Illinois or wherever banner. I look for that stuff at flea markets. There is a lot of it down around Bakersfield still.
