Route 66 was the first Stones track I ever heard. Mum and Dad got me a little Philips record player for Christmas in 64 I think, with some Seekers singles. Not really into them! Months later, listening to cricket from England on an old crystal set (remember those, the original iPod!!?!?!?!?)in my bedroom in Perth one night and the dial slipped....onto Radio Luxembourg I think (or Caroline?) and Route 66 was on. Jaw dropped....and 5 decades later my chins have caught up with it...

Was that Perth Scotland or Perth WA?
Getting Radio Luxembourg on a radio in the UK was hard enough, so it's darned impressive if there was some gap in the space time continuum that allowed it to be received in Western Australia!
