Hey yeah with sssoul … sound
on most tracks VG... The Keith
vocal tracks FOB & AAY are a lil' rough...

But having said that its friggin' funny to hear Keith's early lyrics …

Things like:

So wont you tell me your lies
I want to be there too
I've nothing better to do

Wont you buy me a new pair of shoes
Cause if you love me
You won't wanna see me like this...

……………………………… All About You

Anyway come down ....take off ya shoes ...kiss me and listen with me...XXXXX...

Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky
Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes all the same
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same

And the people in the houses
All went to the university
Where they were put in boxes
And they came out all the same
And there's doctors and lawyers
And business executives
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same

I guess this is the place for this...

A very close friend of mine works in the film festival business, and has been looking after film star Owen Wilson in Egypt, and now Paris.

Late last night I got a message from my buddy:

"Dude!
I'm down and out in Paris
with Owen Wilson
Wes Craven
Tilda Swinton
and.....
Sir Mick!!!"

and a bit more, from the following morning

"I turn around and there he is dancing by himself surrounded by his body guards and some fans

Like his feet never stopped moving

And I hardly saw him talk to anyone

But he was focusing on the music"

I asked if he was with a young lady:

"No he seemed to be alone

And honestly it seemed like he was performing for us in certain way

Giving us all a proper dance show or runway show

The problem was that the club was filled with the most douchey people up you could imagine.

If this was Latin America, He would have had the entire party dancing with him, But he came into our circle and danced with us for a song or two which was rad!

So I had him a meter away from me.

He danced up to Owen and gave him a hug, Hansel and Mick in a Fashion Week party"

So there we are, no gossip, no photos (yet, maybe one coming) but I thought some of you might like to hear about my good mate dancing in Paris with Sir Mick!

Peggy Sue Gerron, inspiration for Buddy Holly song, dies in Lubbock

Peggy Sue Gerron, who will be forever remembered in association with Buddy Holly because of his song bearing her name, died early Monday at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

She was 78.

Friends in Texas and New Mexico, who particularly knew her as a ham radio enthusiast, remember how fascinated she would be in talking to people she had never met from around the world.

Doug Hutton of Lubbock, who also is an amateur radio operator, said he was one of her friends who helped her get her radio license a decade or so ago.

Bryan Edwards, now living in New Mexico after operating the business called Edwards Electronics in Lubbock, said, “Peggy Sue was always just plain good to people.”

Rockman, this one’s for you from the book
‘My Brother Elvis: The Final Years’
David E Stanley 2016

The officers looked at each other, nervous but certain of what they needed to do. “With all due respect, Mr. Presley, I have my orders…” In a single, fluid motion, Elvis pulled his Federal Narcotics Officer badge from his bathrobe pocket and shoved it in the officer’s face. “… and I have mine,” Elvis said. “From the President of the United States.” “You do realize that you could be exposing yourself to a charge of obstruction of justice…” “I don’t give a rat’s ass about what you think,” Elvis snapped.

(lol he carried those badge/s around with him all the time, and finally,
WHAMO! gets to play the card/ ace o spades)

Article on Elvis and badge, reason I am posting is after reading it,
I had no idea Elvis demanded the whole thing keep quiet/ out of press-
and it was, until leaked 1 year after the fact.

In regards to UNCUT review of CONFESSIN' THE BLUES there are some problems there. It is not the case that "at least half of teh standards" were released or performed by the the Stones - it is (if my memory serves for reading once the track list through) all of them. Which also explains why it is so "macho" by neglecting the female blues artists. Yeah, UNCUT wants to advert that Keith Richards collection of theirs, but the Stones collection is made by different criterion - while the UNCUT one is based on Keith's personal taste, CONFESSIN' THE BLUES is based on those actual "standards" (an odd term to describe things like "Prodigal Son") the band has had an actual relation to. So that 'feminist criticism' should be directed towards The Rolling Stones for not performed or released, say, Bettie Smith, Etta James or Big Mama Thornton songs.

That said, there've been some collections already made by similar criterion, but none of them been so 'definitive' as CONFESSIN' THE BLUES.

A good album, a bad review.

YEAH Doxa ... its just UNCUT sookin' and claiming its their idea ….
And yes the UNCUT CD were Keith's fave tracks …

Stones have covered Irma's - Time Is On My Side
(although not the original )…. Barbara Lynn - Oh Baby (We Got a Good Thing Goin') ……...

Be interesting ta hear 'em cover Bessie Smith ….Gimmie A Pigfoot
maybeeeeee but Mick would have his work cut out gettin' thru Sugar In My Bowl
