I am not an Oasis fan, know nothing about the brothers except they argue, and one of them opening for RS meant little to me, but I read this and thought, huh dude can sure write tho.

I have read so many Stones write ups over the years that it is rare when one stands out. years ago in a Roy Carr book there was a review Of (I think) "The Last Time", and the writer came up with such a brilliant comparison of Bill Wyman taking care of the basement, or something.
And this guy Ian Fortman really seems to know the Stones, and the effect their live personas and shows have. That was just awesome: a "Charisma bomb' It is true that the first song by the Stones is always such a blur because at that point you are doing nothing but looking and being bowled over by the sheer greatness of their presence. A Charisma Bomb.
This is why no matter how many albums another band will sell; how many stadiums they fill - no one has ever come close to the Stones because they have always been more than a musical group. They are cultural icons, and from Day 1 have been as much personality as player. It is IMO very intriguing to watch other musicians and stars turn into apprehensive, little fan-boys in the presence of the Stones. ( just had a weird typo slip -up; instead of writing 'presence of the Stones' I had written 'presence of the Lord')
