Published 1989 ... Still stands up pretty well with the telling of
Johnson's life, times & music ... plus about the only book that touches on
Johnny Shine's cousin Calvin Frazier who also travelled with Johnson
and recorded three or four variants of Johnson tracks ...




Published 2008 ... Helped out by Steve LaVere, Graves brings in more
up to date information and covers the discovery of Johnson's son Claude
... and the scramble over the so called few seconds of Johnson footage
that supposedly had guys like Dylan and Robert Plant bidding BIG bucks
for until it was noted that a movie poster in the background was from 1941 some three years after Johnson passed away .....

Grab these two books and ya got about all ya need ta know about Mr Johnson ... ....

I have a real struggle to believe the recent Johnson with Lockwood shot ...
