Yep, it's Johnny Starbuck's workstation. The list of guitars that are up for re-stringing.

Gloria is obviously a 50's Tele and I'm guessing here, but my money's on Dwight being d'white ES-345.

How do you get the images to show up larger? I tried 8 times in the last post!

Sonny is Keith's '67 Sunburst Tele he uses for 'You Can't Always Get' and 'Tumblin' Dice'

So Pierre de Beauport serves both - Keith and Ron, guitar-wise?

I like the 19" Tone Works guitar tuner - same as mine and the old Champ - but why?
why does he have to use those JET picks?

Pierre is the Stones backline crew boss. He also looks after Keith on stage. johnny re-strings all the guitars, Ronnie's and Keith's. there's so much to be done in that department that one guy can't do everything. Johnny's a real gent and always made me welcome in Stones guitar world.

sorry, you gentlemen were posting while i was horsing around prying into those other lists
that are barely visible in the back there.

how i get the photos larger is:
i downloaded them from your site, then uploaded them to photobucket.com.
i had to reduce the first one considerably, in fact - it was about four times bigger at first

On the right hand side of picture, you have the menue "link to this picture"
underneath you have the resolutions to choose from: 100, 200....600
choose preview size 600 and take the 3rd link -->[/IMG]

Can't read what it says after DICE but DICE is a '58 Les Paul TV Model.

Also I noticed that SONNY is down as a '66 but it isn't - it's a '67.

yes, i know which one Dice is -
we've got a whole thread about Keith's LP TVs and Juniors around here somewhere :E
and peering at it again, what it says after Dice might be 1958.
but that 66/67 discrepancy is an example of what's puzzling me:
a lot of those numbers seem to be not *quite* the birthyears.

correct - the legend that is Micawber. Did you know that the bridge pickup isn't a Telecaster pickup? It's a lap steel pickup with only 2 mounting screws. Pierre told me that. He also gave me the strings that were used on the guitar the night before when he changed them.

I am a sad Keith fan.

The 17th fret marker dropped out the night before the Manchester show on the 40 Licks Tour and I got the strings that were on the guitar the night it went.

They still haven't fixed it after all that time!

Have you noticed how worn Keith's guitars get where the necks meet the bodies? he strums them to bits in the same area.

That's what I call relicing (?) the true way - doesn't need to be fixed really - only when the 12th fret markers drop out.

Blue Lite = that new Versoul with the blue inset?

(on some of WeSellGuitar's shots of the guitar racks you can see some of the names -
Ronnie's dark blue SG with the trippy patterns is called Blue Moon)

Just as info: there is no difference between a '48 to late 50's lapsteel pickup and a Telecaster pickups, except for the extra screw hole for the Tele bridge.

I would like to know when the original pickup was replaced. On the '75 and '78 tour the guitar still had the original bridge and pickup, starting from the '81 tour the bridge was changed to a brass one. I never noticed the missings screw until about two years ago.

N.O. is 'New Old' which is a 50's hardtail Strat of Ronnie's.
The guitars body has no paint on the back and funnily enough I had the body in the trunk of my car for a while as I was asked to send it to Clive Brown who was going to paint the back to match the front. That's a story in itself as I collected the body from Jummy Pages house and had a wierd experience. Anyway, Clive is the u.k.'s leading vintage finish restorer but in the end Ronnie decided he was going to paint a picture on the back and got the body back but hasn't yet got around to it. Here's a picture of Pierre with the guitar on the hottest day I have ever experienced where it was 104 in the shade!
The guitar itself sounds superb and Ronnie uses it quite a bit.

(and july 18th in Budapest was the hottest day in the history of everything, i believe -
you're lucky if you found a piece of shade that was only 104 degrees!)

Which one is Pierre and who is the other dude?

Pierre's the one with the guitar (smile: which may be why it says "a picture of Pierre with the guitar" );
the other fellow is Johnny Starbuck (see the other photo of him above)
