I think it is just pressed between the glass and the black velvet. No glue (I hope)

My 11 years old daughter got one from Keith in Cologne 2006, after that she was totally fascinated from him.
In Bucharest I got in eye-contact with Ronnie and he threw one directly to me. It was more than 20 meters distance, I stood on Keith´s side at the catwalk.

Yeah, from the Licks tour in Singapore. On the second night I was front row Keith's side. He leaned over and dropped it in the palm of my hand, and I dropped it!! But luckily behind the barrier where the Stone's kids, and Keith's daughter picked it up and gave it to me. Very cool. On the front it has the tongue logo, and on the back it says Keith Richards 2002.

Well, I have not gotten anything, though I have been close to picks and I think about 5 times to one of Charlie's drumsticks, even so close as to grovelling on the floor for it.

However, my (then 12, now 13 year old) daughter (she of the award winning "What I Would Save if my House was Afire" essay fame -- her Rolling Stones guitar picks) got 3 in Vancouver, then she wrote the essay, then got one more in London. The tale goes like this ...

in Vancouver, we went to the B stage rail during the 3 song Keith set,and whilst waiting for the band, some guy comes up and hands her 2 picks, which have the tongue and 2006 on one side and Keith Richards on the other. He turns out to be Keith's personal assistant.

Being close to Christmas and the good daughter that she is, it didn't take much to convince her to give me one as an early Xmas gift.

we just happened to be staying in the Stones hotel by coincidence and so we went and hung out outside the band's end of the North American tour party. It got late, so we headed for the elevator for our room when a uniformed hotel employee literally runs up to us and says "honey, Mick Jagger just gave this to me" and hands her a Ronnie Wood pick.

Fast forward to the O2, final show of the tour ... we have seats in A3, row 14, and just a few seats off the catwalk ... the band is rolling back from the B stage set

and she is holding our Montana license plate which reads "Stons" which already caught the attention of Ronnie and Daryl on their way out to the B stage, Ronnie giving her a - dont know what you call it, not a thumbs up - but the circle you make with your index finger and thumb

anyway, on the way back, a guy who handles Mick's guitars and who is holding one in a cover sees the license plate and comes up to her and asks "were you in Missoula?", she says yes, he leaves then comes back just a bit later and tries to give her something, but others next to her are grabbing for it.

The assistant pulls it back, then places it directly into her hand. It has the tongue and 2007 on one side, and this time MICK JAGGER on the other side.

She she completes her trilogy of Stones picks -- First Keith, then Ronnie, and finally Mick (not so easy a one to come by). And all were given to her. That I would have such luck.

Oh, forgot, she was also given a set list that last night at the O2 by another hand with the B stage. I got one later from a sound board engineer in the back who had promised me one after the show, and he fulfilled his promise even as he was refusing others.

Didn't realize til later that night when I examined it closely that it was a set list from the Thursday show. But that's great because we got set lists from the last two shows, and Thursday was the greatest Stones show I had ever seen, period, since my first in 75, so I was happy.

But Whitney, she gets picks from Keith and Ronnie at the last North American show of the tour, then finishes it off with a Mick pick at the last show of the tour, period. Truly Blessed by the Plexiglass.

I can't think of the name of it now, and I've only been there twice...after the Keith show in 1993 and the Stones in 2002.

it's gone now. they knocked the wall down and now "the kinetic playground" is there - a large funky place with a stage. my bfriend's band plays there once a month. the whole uptown area is turning trendy.

Been up against the B-Stage a number of times, but oddly, the two picks I have gotten were at the catwalk, with the moving stage overhead. Because the people are less packed in, I think it's easier for the band members to see one crazy guy jumping up and down and shouting "PICK!!!" Caught Ronnie's eye at the first show at the O2, and he tossed it right at me; I missed it, but it fell behind me and my daughter picked it up. Nice one -- says "Ronnie Wood".

Not me. I almost did. Plowed over the girl that I was dating at the time to get it. Then stopped and picked her up and by then the pick was gone. I would have had a beter chance getting it if I didn't stop and pick her up off the ground. Stupid me. It was October 5, 2003 in Hartford.

WOW, it's hard to think of Uptown as trendy, but I guess it's their "turn."
What's your bf's band's name? Do they play Stones songs?

well, there were a couple of murders there recently...anyway, it's the chicago afrobeat project and the only covers they play are by fela kuti. most of their stuff is original. they're having the release party for their 2nd CD at martyr's at the end of october. they've got a little following in chicago.

As you might have read I saw all shows in Europe this summer. In Dusseldorf/Germany I started to present a long white rose to Keith, while I was standing front row at the B-stage. He smiled, looked at me, took the rose and put it carefully before Charlie's drums. Same happened in Hamburg, In Slane castle I did not expect to be front row (although I was in the second at last), so I had no rose.
At the first London show, Keith was standing so close to me I thought I could touch him. He went down on his knees, took my rose in his hand and returned me his pick in my hand.
This was for sure one of the most emotional moments for me on this tour.
See you next year, Keith!

It may be unpopular, but if the pick isn't handed to you...I don't really feel like it counts (or closely tossed to you...something intentional). I have a Keef one i just happened to catch...but gave it to my buddy since I have 2 Keef handed me. Just my opinion...but while it may be neat to have one...it isn't personal if it isn't personal...

I guess I'd equate it to Jagger waiving to the crowd or slapping hands with folks & Jagger waving to you...or coming up to you to shake your hand...one is personal, one isn't.

sdstonesguy - true, but I can only be happy to own one pick Keith played with, even if it was just randomly tossed. All my other Stones picks were given by the entourage, at least Keith held and played this one.

I did not think that it would mean a lot to me to get a pick from Ronnie till I actually got one. I got it in St. Petersburg in july. At the end of the show I was standing, dancing and jumping up and down on my seat on the 5th row to the encore. When the song ended I could not get my arms down, I was just standing there with my arms in the air, happy to be there (as always at RS concerts), and then Ronnies pick landed in my right hand, I did not close my hand to catch it, so I dropped it, but quickly I jumped down on the ground, took the pick and put it in my pocket, for 20 seconds. That is how long it took till I had to take a look at it again to convince myself that I actually got it. It was a great night. A full moon was shining over the palaces at the bank of the river Neva when I walked back to my hotel, with the pick in my pocket. And I felt happy. Not only because of the pick. But also because of the pick.
Yeah I got a pick!!!!!!!!!!!!
A week later the guy standing beside me in Parken in Copenhagen catched a drum stick. He was so thrilled that he could not speak. I know the feeling, so good for him.

Even better than a guitar pick, my good friend Lisa (the blonde girl in most of the following pictures) went autograph hunting whilst in Dublin.

...I haven't spoken to her since.

I never understood autographs. I like how Steve Martin handles it (from what I hear)...he hands you a card that says "I met Steve Martin".

I was near you when this happened and saw Tony give her the picks. Wasn't she up on your shoulders? It was pretty nice of him to reach them over to her.

Unfortunately, Steve Martin is about as funny as toothache.

For the life of me, I somehow cannot imagine how anyone would actually WANT an autograph from Steve Martin.

He has about as much talent as the average garden gatepost.
