What's going on in the second clip. Is he uninterested to play or is he unable to play because of a black out? He can't find the right key and he's been playing for half a century. That's serious.

Aint fair to first take a clip from where a guy is 45;
and then another when he's 62.

Chech this T & A-clip from 1981. Keef's 37,
and he performs the song almost identically.

OK, he looks a little off at times now; but we all would
after 12-13 years of smack & 44 years of touring, wouldnt we.. ?

If you would see a pianoplayer known as one of the greatest in the world playing a solo in the wrong key, and doesn't even get it right during the song, you would ask yourself if it's a joke or brain damage. It's more than a bad day at work. I don't think it's the drugs, it's the alcohol that's destroyed parts of his brain.

JUST STOP HARRASSING KEITH WITH YOUR SPECULATION, AGAIN THE SAME SH****!
AS SOME OTHER SAY HE IS 62 YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HE WAS MAYBE ON A BAD DAY TOO!
I SAW THEM 10 TIMES THIS YEAR AND HE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE; ESPECIALLY THE 3 LAST SHOW IN LONDON!!!
JUST ACCEPT THEY ARE GETTING OLDER, YOU CAN LIVE WITH THE STONES FROM THE SEVENTIES IN YOUR HEART, BUT YOU CAN NOT WAIT TO GO THE SHOW 40YEARS LATER AND HAVE THE SAME SHOW!
THEY ARE STILL ALIVE, STILL PLAYING TOGETHER; STILL HAVING FUN TOGETHER; STILL GIVING GOODS TO EVERYONE GOING TO THE SHOW EXCEPT YOU...AND THEY ARE STILL PLANING SOME SHOW FOR NEXT YEAR IN 2008. SO WHAT ELSE!?!?!
JUST DON'T COME TO THE SHOW NEXT YEAR, LIVE WITH YOUR "SOUVENIRS OF THE STONES" AND LEAVE HIM, THEM AND US ALONE!!!

Alcohol is a drug too, Bärs; And most likely the 12-13 years of
H addiction ruined much.
To the last post I wanna add Keith is 63 y o & soon to be 64.

Those years of H didn't affect his playing during SW or VL. During VL and B2B you could see he got older but he still played quite complicated solos, like Satisfaction on the B2B tour video. Keith is not that old for heavens sake. I saw BB King last autum and he definitely knew what key to play in. Keith had no clue where to put his hands on the neck during T&A.

He's 63½ and would be dead 35-40 years ago.
This discussion is totally absurd.

And that's why his brain is damaged, which the clip makes very clear. Where's the problem?

The problem is why not just leave him in peace after
all these years of tourin' since the early 60s
generally and since August 2005 in particular.

You have no right jumpin' on a mans head, a man who is face down,
over and over. Just leave it.

Noone is forced to go buy the concert tickets,
noone is forced to buy the dvd's, noone is forced to but their records.

And the problem is YOU, bärs.

Perhaps time to put away the bottle for a while?

Am I over and over jumping on Keith's head, who is face down? Hilarious comment.

Charlie had cancer. Is it offensive to talk about it?

Are you ashamed that your idol suffers heavily from mental and physical injury due to alcoholism? It's not about age or tour exhaustion.

Hey Bärs..

you paint a pic that these guys should live how your ideal world would like them to - just to give you maximum amount of years from them...
Well, that notion sucks and so do you.
The guy has a right to a drink now an again - he worked damn hard for it - and its his bit of pleasure...
I goto work all week and enjoy a drink of a weekend and sometimes a lighter one midweek.. Why shouldnt i?.. does that make me a bad dude.

And neither does it Keef -
leave the man alone - we all owe him that..

Did I say he should stop drinking? No, I said the alcoholism has affected his brain. Keith might of course live anyway he likes. And so do you.

hannover 2006, berlin 2006, frankfurt 2007, düsseldorf 2007, hamburg 2007

keith wasn´t good at any of these shows, he is not having off nights, he is constantly not good anymore.

i saw them live since 1990. 2002 was the first time i thought something is wrong with him, though it was still quite good.

2007 was a shock, nothing less than that.

So just don't come to the few Show next year!
and follow an other band or artist like britney spears... for sure she gonna be ok at least for more than 20 years!!! good for you!
LEAVE KEITH ALONE WITH HIS OWN STYLE OF LIVING!

Re: Time waits for no one

I think w/ Keith its hit or miss... Seen the Stones 18xs and was only disapointed 1x and it was not the stones but the venue in MiamiFla...The initial thread shows him singing little tna but not playing....saw him palying this song but not singing from europe....this was a good performance...go take the treasures where you find it!!!!!

I think Baboon Bro it's time for you to get some distance to this band. When I was 15 and 16 I was personally offended if someone criticized the Stones. When I grew up I understood it wasn't necessary. People may say what they want about the Stones and I don't care. I know what I think about them and I'm sure about my own feelings for them and their music so I don't have to care about different opinions. Another thing that's sure is that Keith don't need you to be his Internet defender. He's been playing the largest stage ever on the largest tour ever grossing huge amounts of attention, fame and money for the last two years. Compared to him you are to one that's face down Mr. Bro.

What's interesting is that even you and your likes seem to agree that there's is disaster going on in that second clip. You're actually saying that Keith is too old to play good guitar. That's an attack on Keith according to you. Why don't you leave the man alone yourself? Doughboy thinks it's a question of "a drink on a weekend" which Keith has earned. Well Doughboy, you're certainly not the one to tell neither us or Keith what rights Keith has earned during his life. Another problem with your theory is that Keith is not on a weekend holiday when he's on stage. He's working. Those few hours on stage every week is his work and those are the moments when everything has to work, specially if you charge 100+ euros for the tickets which generates huge expectations on a superb performance.

If you accept the fact that Keith is a normal human being you must also accept that constant abuse, which obviously is outside his control, affects his body composition and cognitive abilities. If you don't accept his status as a normal human being then the problem in this thread is you and your distorted perception of reality.

Finally BB and Doughboy, if you don't like a thread just leave it and read another one. You have no right to attack other members personally just because you don't like the topic. BV decides what's allowed to write and what's not. If BV don't want any thread about Keith that's not entirely positive, then it's his call.

So his brain is damaged. What kind of statement is that?

Seriously I dont like people stating that official individuals
have their brain damaged or so.

Might be so I have pink-colored shades... I love these guys.

But since my daughter at almost exactly 4½ appears to have been started
readin', I just leave this thread & this board to those who are interested.

To have a damaged brain is no more strange than to have a damaged body. It's for example about how the cells in the brain communicate with each other and it's beyond control for the individual. It can mean memory loss among other things. Isn't that what see in the clip? He doesn't remember how to play L&A. It's not very fun to point it out. Nevertheless it seems to be case.

Re: Time waits for no one

Since I passed buy & felt concerned by the issue...
I myself pointed out how he failed with Brown Sugar
in Brno; then people jumped on me over & over.
Topi pointed out how he fell repeatedly - same there,
people jumped at Topi. Some other bloke said he was visibly
drunk (not "Superfull", since that was fetched from Danish tabloids
retro-actively by the Swedish vulture correspondants),
and still hasnt gotten rid by the brave phone harassers.

Its just the term "brain damage" I oppose against.
For me thats a verý strong word. Say you stated: ~"
problably slightly demented".
I wouldnt probably oppse to that.

And BTW; this quote: "He doesn't remember how to play L&A."
is purdy funny winking smiley .........

This is not a forum for brain scientists and there's no need to stress the exact word choice. You knew obviously what I meant in the first place. And yes, alcoholism does damage your brain after a while.

Sure does. Rarely touch it.
This site's users is WAY too positive to that poison.
I'd rather Keef did spliff, if there were a choice.

I'm stubborn as an old Goat, but I still think
brain damage is wrong term. The combination of these two
words is fatal, signal-wise. "A Damaged brain" doesnt ring
same bells.

Words are dangerous, mate.
And sorry for the sharp ones I casted out before, above.
