Well now that the biggest (Bang) rock & Roll tour ever is finished and we alll await word of future shows from our boys. Now might be a good time to draw some attention to some of the biggest, most legendary Stones fans that we know of on the internet and the world. The 2 biggest that I know of from my now 1 year apprenticeship here on iorr, are of course the webmaster of this incredible place Bjornulff Vik. Who has provided virtually up to the second reports of every stones show in the last 2 years. With much help of course. Of course Gazza is the other among the greatest stones fans and stones friendly to those of us on the message boards. Cheers mate, thanks for the reports. Hope you make it back across this side of the pond so I can have the privelage of spilling a beer on you.smiling smiley As well let me say thanks to some others who were among the first to welcome this once wet behind the ears rookie, but who is now a hardened vet on IORR. Button Your Lip,Lukester,Elmo,............And many others I have had the pleasure of talking to on and off this board.Rockman, Little Queenie,CindyC,Erik_Snow,Timbernardis,Baboon Bro,Bingo,Ohno(ya drunken bastard) SomeTorontoGirl)......Even the smart asses like StonesTod(et,al) Nikki (whatever my name is today).............Peace and love all.......If I left your name out,no offense.Let me leave you with sincere well wishes from the good ole' Sweet Charmer.smiling smiley

I almost forgot to give a big shout out to the rather large Bay Area contigent on here. Stand up and be counted NorCals.

Heare's to you,and here's to me
The best of friends we'll always be
But if we should ever disagree
Well the hell with you
Here's to me

You have any other nickname than Balderdash, Lukester ? Oh wait - that's the real one...

The most famous IORR persons, that's probably Gazza, Sunnybandyo, Rockman and BV.

I AM the most famous Rolling Stones Fan!....in my house.

I would list Martin Scorsese amongst the most famous. Jack Nicholson would certainly qualify. Paul McCartney has been known to attend Stones concerts, so he would qualify as a fan I would imagine. Also Bono and The Edge are both famous Stones fans.

No No Erik...not famous but sure am the low-downest bastard on IORR...
That's unless there's some explorer cat down at the South Pole who digs the Stones...

Bob Dylan, Tom Hanks and Erik Snow are other "famous" fans.

I assume we will all keep our mouths shut about the fact that Paris Hilton showed up at one of the Hollywood Bowl gigs.

I read that Neil Young was a Stones fan and they played Stones music between the warm-up band and Neil Young at a show I saw once.

thanks SCL - i hope you're not saying goodbye right now - we can find things to post about until the spring. and i hope we can meet at an upcoming show.

i've made a lot of friends on this board and am very grateful. the start of the tour was a lonely existence - i used to go to shows by myself and afterward, go back to my hotel by myself. now i still often go by myself but at least i usually find the party afterward. in all my years of seeing the grateful dead, i never found a community such as this.

wow, that defies image and expectations of the "Dead community." You think of them as always sharing drugs, recordings, and everything else and they are from the original hippie center of the universe -- the Bay Area, specifically, San Francisco.

Wouldn't you think they would have/share lots of friendships too, and that would be part of your experience in your 66 shows? Now that's got me wondering about you??!! juskiddin, but it seems contrary to what one would think.

I wonder if the fact that all that was largely pre-Net had any impact, shouldnt have really.

But the Stones and IORR communities are quite united and supportive of each other, in spite of the spats which are often quite fun too.

I find the German - StonesTreff - community wonderful as well, and I suppose the Shidoobees.

Anyway, sweetheart, you have mail.
