assume it's true for a moment, does Plant get over his "I'm not singing Stairway" rant too? My wife detests the song, so if this stays that would be fine with me because otherwise I probably can't convince her to go with me. LOL

Voodoo, LOL. Alas, I don't think they will get off without doing it, remember they attempted it at Live Aid and Plant loved the reception it elicited from the crowd. He is just in denial, heh heh.

Well, well, well - a one-off gig, eh? Bet you they come back next year under the "we had soooo much fun playing together at the 02 in 07 that we've decided to come back for more in 08".

Next year's Reformation Round is already looking perky.

There was some truth to the rumours of Zeppelin touring after Live Aid, as it has been documented that they did indeed rehearse with Tony Thompson on drums later on in 1985 or perhaps in early 1986, but ultimately decided against going forward.

I heard this as well from a source in late June, who said that the guarantee being offered to the band from Live Nation was close to $1,000,000,000.

I know all about that, they also seriously considered it in 1990 when the first boxed set was released (no rehearsals that time tho). There have been several times when they were inching toward it, but they never get there.

Not hard to believe, I think the Police are taking $100M each from their tour.

As the Stones grossed $500 million for a two year tour of almost 150 shows, Id personally find it hard to believe that the Police would make $300 million even in gross for a tour that is only lasting a few months.

I think Zep could outgross the ABB tour comfortably if they played enough shows, but theyd need to be on the road for a couple of years to come anywhere close to making $1 billion. I mean, if they did 50 shows, that would be a gross of $20 million a night. Thats simply not possible.

C'mon Lukester, you know that quoting Jimmy Page's maid after Bonham died in Page's bedroom is just bad taste.

Warhorses? With zep, all their live non-accoustic stuff would qualify...IMO. But anyway why don't we speculate on what their setlist would include?
I would guess the following:

Rock N Roll
Heartbreaker
Black Dog (Plant did a great version of this his last tour)
What is & What Should Never Be
Dazed And Confused (but only 14 minutes)
Since I've Been Loving you.
In The Evening
White Summer/Black Mountain
Nobody's fault but Mine
Kashmire
Bonzo Jr. Feature
Whole Lotta Love
Stairway (Yes, I think they will)

(The following on rotating basis)
Thank You
Ramble On
Misty Mountain Hop
In My Time of Dying
Sick Again
10 years gone
Babe, Im Gonna Leave You
All of my love (although I doubt it)
Custard Pie
...and a few others not coming to mind now
...but no accoustical set!!

Yet another tid bit in the gossip roller coaster. From NME

Led Zeppelin are definitely reforming says Robert Plant

'We got a band meeting this afternoon' admits singer
10 hours ago
Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has confirmed that the legendary rock band will be reuniting later this year.

A reunion has been strongly rumoured for the last week or so and today (September 5) the singer confirmed it's definitely on.

A fan who met Plant in London today contacted NME.COM explaining that the singer said he was on his way to meet bandmates Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.

"How did you find out about this?" asked Plant when asked about the prospects of a reunion show by the autograph hunter. "Well we've got a band meeting about it this afternoon about it. There's not a lot to work out as it's only going to be one-off gig."

NME.COM has also learned from a music industry source that the show, possibly to take place in November at the 02 in London, will be a charity gig organised by promoter Harvey Goldsmith.

What do you think about the band getting back together? Have your say on MyNME below and the best comments will appear throughout the day, so keep checking

A nice Zeppelin setlist would be:

Achilles Last Stand
How Many More Times
Dancing Days

D'yer Mak'er
The Battle Of Evermore
In the Evening

(Robert Plant babbles about how good it feels to be "Back in the saddle")

Tangerine
That's The Way
Ten Years Gone

Carouselambra
Misty Mountain Hop
Good Times Bad Times
Whole Lotta Love
Kashmir
Royal Orleans
Bring It On Home

Encore:
Four Sticks
Communication Breakdown

Crowd goes crazy for another encore...everyone expects STH, but instead get:

Well if they don't do a bunc hof stuff from Physical Grafitti and Presence than I'm not much interested. I'm a big Zep fan and I had the privelage of seeing thier last 2 american shows. Not to mention 1 Plant/Page show, the ARMS concert with Page. A Plant solo show a couple years ago. Which actually had a pretty creative setlist. But since Bonham died they have not played much of PG other than Kashmir or Presence. Other than NFBM. Their is a lot of great music on both those albums as well as ITTOD that I would like to hear as opposed to the Zep type warhorses.

there is a tour coming! Keep cool. As I mentioned earlier,
a lot of the Stones tour people have contracts for the zep tour
next year.

No, I wasn't talking about M.C.
(But it won't make me wonder if he's managing the tour for Zep!)

Gonzo? Ted Nugent is alive and well!

Also, I like the set lists, but I don't think the Zep is going to play any 5 to 6 hour shows.

I'm pretty sure that they won't reunite! JPJ always refueses to rejoin them and Plant is not in the physical condition to play a entire Zep gig.

Keep on rollin'
