But not over how they sounded back in 78.

I saw Dire Straits on their last tour in 1992.
The first 5 years of that band is really great. Mark Knopfler is together with Rod Stewart one of rock's most wasted talents.

Never got to see him (Mark Knopfler)
but he looks so uncool, and plays so great.

I did to see Thin Lizzy when I was real young - was it 73 or 72 in a club called Zoom in Frankfurt.
it was a 3 piece band and they blew me away ---- wow, yeah

Much power back then in oool' Lizzy.
A band of transformations; thou I dont count
the later, post-Lynott"machs" as real Lizzy.

Together: Lynott & Knopfler

Oh it's very sad when great musicians or entertainers turn into clichês, as they don't find any new directions to go after making it big time.

Mark Knopfler...yes he sure had a great talent. I think it might have been all this consitant touring in the mid-80s that turned his desire into a sterile profession. He has been so boring for over 20 years IMO.
AC/DC might be one of the few bands that don't have to renew themselves to stay effective and poignant....though I don't care for that stadium circus of AC/DC in the 80s-2000s- never got a hold of them after Bon Scott passed away. But I guess I'm the only one...

So Thin Lizzy played Germany as early as in 72-73 ?
