one other point about Thursday. Mick had more movement and dancing than I have seen in years. i think if they were trying to prove to themselves they have still got it then the question has been answered.

Also seemed to be move of The Stones on stage only with just the boys rather than with Blondie and others filling in for Keith and less backing vocals all over the place too.

Seemed to be a stripped down performance and all the better for it too

Just back home to Manchester from 02 last night - fantastic show.... audience were great... sound was LOUD... as good as it gets... and packed to the rafters - I couldn't see one empty seat. The Stones were on fire right up to the encore of Brown Sugar which must be one of the best versions I've ever seen...

"till the next time..."

By the way, I saw Anita Pallenberg outside the O2 as I was leaving - she with a group of people and they were trying to organise a car home. Were any other Stones family/associates or celebs spotted?

I bought the camera before the tour and have been trying to find the right settings ever since. Still most pictures end up being a mess. It's a Sony Cybershot 7.2 MP. For the closeups at the B-stage you can even use automatic settings. For others I've tried many different settings like 800 ISO with or without flash.

was the band so good because it is London, Pallenberg here, family too and Page at the 1st show ?? no need to prove anything but maybe just the rolling machine perfectly working

I like how someone justifies his views on a gig he wasnt at by citing reviews, reports from folk who were there and bootleg recordings, yet then dismises the view of someone who was at the fecking gig ! how does that feckin work.

I can say as a fact without any fear of contradiction that last nights show was the feckin best I HAVE EVER seen them EVER EVER EVER.

Yesterday was my 2nd Stones show after Twickenham last year (being 18, it's the only chance I've really had). Somehow, we got tickets from block 416 to A1 front row, and it really must have been the best night of my life, and the best 30 seconds of my life when Keith played the Sympathy solo metres away from me. When you get things like this, I honestly cannot see the point in complaining about warhorses being played too much, because things like this are pretty life-changing who cares what song is being played.

What is a "surprise"? A song nobody knows? A song nobody use to hear? I would rather have songs the crowd recognize and appreciate. If you went to the show last night you would agree on the fact that each and every song worked just great. By the way... How often does the average fan who go to one show per tour get to hear "Shine A Light" live?

The Stoned were each sober, Nicos. What more can you possibly hope for?

Nah, don't tell us.

I agree BV that Big Hits works fine for these concerts but a litle surprise will do sometimes "I'm a King Bee" "We love You" etc. but we still got one night to go .........................

a surprise is something we're not going to get.

what's not a surprise is the number of people here who will defend the setlists no matter what. why even bothering saying it's a great setlist if it doesn't matter what they play? doesn't that sorta water-down the concept of "great?" compared to what is what i would ask....

What a wonderful show. Maybe things were different from the 21st, but I saw NO empty seats - and I left my rose-tinted specs at home winking smiley. I'm sure there were some dotted around, but you'd have to spend your time nit-picking to find them.

There is little to add to what has already been said, but I'd repeat that you had to be there. For all of you who have heard songs hundreds of times, you may feel that it was a boring set-list when you saw it written down. TOO BAD!! It worked perfectly and the band were a pleasure to watch. After all the doom and gloom posted on here it was a relief to realise that the report of their demise as the greatest rock and roll band ever is premature - ok it's not premature, it's just plain wrong.

The seating in the venue is not great. It's the first time we've been to a concert with seats and it's very different. On the plus side, it's great not to have to get there hours early, guard a viewpoint and then have someone 6'4" arrive and stand in front. We could arrive when it suited. But an audience with seats doesn't seem to know quite what to do. All our section (except for us!) sat down for Shine a Light and at other points too. Shame really, but at least we weren't asked/told to sit down by anyone behind... And few of them (again apart from us) seemed to be dancing like idiots.

I'm looking forward to Sunday so much, can't wait to see it all again. Then it's time to save up for the next time

Yeah Tod. But as far as VB goes. I believe someone said that,it's just a jam they do during rehearsels with Bernard on vocals. Mick's not even there. So they never had any real intention of playing it live.

Great show, even better than Tuesday, I agree.
Rebelrebel, bv (sorry to have missed you), and others, excellent review.

Satisfaction was much extended on the B, very good and different version, jamming, same with JJF imo...Agree on Mick's dancing, animation, brilliant! Miss You left out most of the audience participation and sounded quite good.

Please, I can't wait to hear about Sunday, as I had to leave to fly away home.
I hear from someone who will be there that there might be people in the audience crying with tears coming out.

All the B-stage pics on this thread are great, but I particularly like this one, BV...you (and Susan from Vienna) were right in front of us, and this is exactly the view we had - we actually have a shot that's almost identical to this!

Thanks

Lee
