Oh, what a shoddy song! They could do without that! It`s one of The Stones` throwaways.

Is it bugger! Top flight rocker.....

I think it's pretty funny. No favourite but have you recorded songs for so many years not every song can be important, indispensable or a classic.

I love it. It's not a classic but it sounds angry and cheerful at the same time!

I love it. It's the first Stones song I can remember hearing at some New Year's Eve party in the eighties.

You must be kidding? The Rolling Stones at their best IMO.

Ok song, good rocker in the same vein as Let Me Go from that period. This song can really rock on stage if they are feeling it, same way Let Me Go did in 81/82. I actually thought they'd pull this one out on stage this tour but they didn't.

superb song, with a great "pay-off" moment:

"here's ten thousand dollars go have some fun
Put it all on at a hundred to one "

however, within the stones "nobody ever works," so i doubt we'll get to hear it again live . . .

Never cared for this song either.

It's a very good song - but together with Start Me Up, the 2 songs I often skip at Tattoo You. 1981 live versions were great....1982 not.

yep. in '82 it was too "horny" - well, if it's possible for something to be "too horny," that is!

the 1982 horn-augmented riff left one wondering - wtf? surely this wouldn't foresee a future stones where once glorious guitar riffs would be supplanted by a horn section....surely

Gene's a fabulous pervert and sax player. No, it wasn't in the "genes" - it was a Mick idea....

Oh yes, didn't mean to bash his capability of playing the sax in general.
Jagger's the one to blame - for just about everything. Also for allowing Billy Preston to ruin Brown Sugar and Rambler in 75 - with all the respect for Billy

The 1978 demo version was quite better - especially the opening chords, which were more powerful than the A-F#-D-E thingy

<The 1978 demo version was quite better>

Didn´t they use the backing tracks (guitars) from the 1978 version on the released 1981 version? Seems like they kept both of Keith´s guitars... The lyrics and the melody were IMO light years better on TY smiling smiley

Hang Fire always reminded me of Elton John's Crocdile Rock - very similar structure and sound.
Not one of my favourites.

It's fantastic, sounds like they recorded it straight after Some Girls. Does it for me.

Hang Fire Is a great soung BTW. Never heard the horns version. Id like to just out of curiosity.

I`ve often wondered were all the fast songs came from. Definetely not from the 60s. Bitch is fine, and in a different vein.

I think it was Rocks Off that brought in something new. Is all the fast songs Mick`s idea? You can really hear it on Some Girls. I hate punk.

I love that song too, even the 82 version. The Napoli version is great with a sax break and just a guitar solo. One of my very favourite Stones songs.
