So I look at my mail. And what do I see? That my booking didn't work out at St. Christopher's Greenwich. Here's the mail I got.

Hi,

You recently booked for our Greenwich Hostel, however due to a computer error there is not enough space at that hostel. However we can book you into our London Bridge hostel. Let us know if this will be suitable.

Thanks,

Anybody staying at that "London Bridge Hostel"? Is it close to the O2 Arena?

Sothwarks fine, especialy that hostel, a fw mins wal along the riverside and just behind the Globe Theatre. and London Bridge is on the Jubilee line. you could even do teh clipper. and explore that area the next day.

in fact i'd be more comfortable around ther than remote greenwich. nice and central. many the happy drunken day i spent around ther with a young Shane MaGowan.

Hmm. Maybe I should take the Southwark London Bridge Hostel then. But aren't we talking a hell of a bus ride to the O2 Arena from Southwark?

i really wouldnt worry about it. that area of southwark has been totally reveloped and is in fact very touristy now.

once you get booked in, you will have no probs getting to o2.
In fact i plan start the day there, a few pints in a riverside pub and than to o2 for 6ish.

keep an eye out for an auld bald eegit with glasses and a smile on his face. london bridge is about 15-20 mins to soutwark on jubilee line and no changes.

I'll book now then. Aren't you and your wife going to The Pilot Inn to hang with about a million Stones fans?

Starting the day early then? My plan is to get up at around 10.00 and then hunt for something to eat. Then I will bum around and psyche myself up for a few hours (Maybe we could meet for a pint if you're in that area)? Then I'll go to the pilot Inn at around 16.00 hours, or maybe even earlier. Depends on when other Stones fans start to flock in.

You're going to the Pilot Inn right? I'll go have a beer with NankerPhlegm and go to the Pilot Inn after a while. It's always great to talk to Stonesfans.

No, we're not. Do yourself a favour, just buy a pocket A-Z (London Street Atlas) either at the airport when you land or at the first newsagent you see. The geography of what is where is far best understood by looking at a map, and all maps have SCALES on them. You'll have absolutely no problems whatsoever getting from where you're staying to the show and back etc. The distances involved are not huge, the transport infrastructure in this part of London is reasonably dense and perfectly adequate for all the movements you're gonna find yourself wanting to make. In the event of using the Tube, all you need to be mindful of is the time the last trains heading in each of the two directions pass through North Greenwich - which is the station where the O2 is. There is a dedicated "Transport" thread for that info, you must have seen it.
