Skills?!

do any of these people have "skills"? I think they all fall into the "right place, right time" category. Except Cohl perhaps, who's probably read one of Donald Trump's autobiographies.

Jane Rose was a former secretary of the Rolling Stones office/Records in New York...

Mick fired her...Keith felt bad and hired her as his personal manager...so the story goes...all experts...feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Tony Russell is Keith's assistant, not his manager

Skills? These are all excellent people who are good at what they do, and also they have a great relation with the people they work with. If something or somebody doesn't work then they would not be there.

I agree with BV.
I can't imagine Mick, in particular putting up with an "employee" who wasn't pulling their weight or didn't have some very special qualities.
And by qualities I don't mean just personal characteristics,I mean Alan Dunn can hardly be your average "roadie" for goodness sake.He might have started off being Mick's driver, but he has clearly developed his talents over the years.
Good luck to them, I say.
I'm sure there would be plenty of applicants to any "vacancies", as and when they occur.

my point was not about the individuals, but about the occupations--and therefore I suppose by implication such individuals who would take up such occupations. I personally don't think "skills" are required to do PR, security, and personal management, just perhaps a Mafia-like attitude, or stonesrule's "loyalty."

see, this statement is so vague, it's meaningless to me. What "talents"?

I'm aware that the Stones try to keep basically the same people working for them, and they probably develop mutual loyalty once they've been around a while--they seemed genuinely moved when Chuch Magee passed away, as best as I could tell, which was not too well--but again I think what's required is being in the right place at the right time and not doing anything stupid, like inviting 20 friends backstage or offering to run and get keith some smack! Now, if you guys know these people personally, you might feel differently, but then you must be near the "inner circle" too. I'm just a fan and a listener.

cc, there was a time when "loyalty" was a virtue. Now it appears only to be a rare quality.

I am not part of the Stones Inner Circle but I can think of several people listed in this thread whom I am acquainted with who are intelligent, responsible, decent, caring, yep loyal, adn who have gone out of their way for the band, its fans and many others. They like and know music and they like and know the band, crew, backing musicians etc.

Didn't realize anyone in this forum of many intelligent people would be so quick to criticize. The Stones staff work hard. Or, as BV pointed out, they wouldn't be there.

oh, when was that time? The prehistoric era until the '81 tour? And now it's gone? Come on, don't be silly.

for the rest, I think you're just a different kind of fan from me. I couldn't give a toss about the band's corporate organization. If they're mainly good folks, that's great.

What is TNA?

cc, how about this? It's probably a pretty good group of its kind, working for the best. There might be some great people in there and one or two not so great. Does that work for ya? :-) (I'm just guessing here.)

Basically various stages of the Michael Cohl touring organizations.

I think he was tour manager for the X-Pensive Winos tours.

So, does anyone from the "Inner Circle" advise on, for example, recording and music publishing contracts, I wonder?
Presumably Mick and Keith have full control when it comes to track listing, selection (i.e which tracks get discarded), album cover design, title, release date, selection of single(s).
But major business decisions.... in the hands of Mick essentially + advice from their legal reps? I don't see any replacement for Prince Rupert as such, Michael Cohl: conflict of interest?

CPI was actually part of BCL before the whole TNA thing even happened. I am not completely sure but I think CPI was there before Labbatts got involved in the formation of the BCL arrangement.

Do any of you know this gentleman? Edward Holwell I met him in the Boston area in 2002 and he claimed to fly Mick and Keith in his plane and to provide security for them. He claimed there were armed security in the rafters of the TD Banknorth during the show. He had a lot of memorabilia to back his stories. Supposedly he left the Boston area to go to the west coast to help with that portion of the Stones tour. Very nice gentleman. I have always wondered if he did all he said he did. There is a picture of him at this website.

you forgot tony russell, keith's other personal mgr.
YES- an oversight.
I wasn't sure wether to include them but Jane Rose in particular goes back a long way and clearly has put a lot of time into the group, as distinct say from Mick's colleagues at Jagger films, which appears to be quite seperate.
Any info on Mr Russell? Age? Location? Skills?!

I just know that he lives in LA - not far from Blondie.
