Bonnie Raitt's duet on shine a light is awful shine a light should always be a one person song!

I think the Stripped version is far far better.

I also think stripped version was better. The band were playing better then.

By the way, are you talking about the version on the stripped film or on the CD - both are different if I remember right.

well a matter of taste i guess
i find ronnie's part on stripped (the record) very weak (and short) and keith's licks also much less groovy
maybe it is the mix but i think 95 version was much more chuck driven
which is nothing wrong since the song is based on a piano
still i think i like more this version where guitars are more in the foreground

I really like these new DVD's.
And although I Don't like the guy too much the duett on Let it bleed flows very nice!
And just love the moment when this guy on B.Aires is running on stage at the final bow!
But Stripped was great as well. Specially Shine a light and Gimme Shelter!Ronnie smokes!

Both are way better than the original studio track, though that's not bad either. I don't know really. Hard one. Stripped is just so well played, but the TBB version is one of the best duets I've seen them do (Along with Bo Diddley and Robert Cray on the VL DVD). I can't choose. They're equal.

Whoa! Now that's one hell of a claim! I know that's our opinion but I prefer the studio track to either live version. The atmosphere of the original live track is so good - it's one of my highlights from Exile.

Oh it is. A true highlight indeed. I just think that most songs from Exile has been bettered when played live. This includes Rocks Off, Rip This Joint, Happy, Shine A Light, Sweet Virginia, All Down The Line and Tumbling Dice.
