yes! I don't remember other concerts where mick and keith were so close, congratulating each other, with that good spirit of the whole band, that desire to play and to have fun, to give us fun...
GREAT GREAT NIGHT!

Really great great show. I came with my wife (4rth Stones show) and my youngest daughter (16 years and 2nd show after Lyon). It was difficult fot my wife who don't want to go so near from the stage, Keith's side, but my daughter fall in love for Keith since Lyon and she really got tears in her eyes when he cames at the end of the show just in front of us. I think we have chance this year because Lyon and Lausanne were fantastic. Thanks guys and please don't stop!

Merci Rob, superbes photos. Quelle surprise de trouver ma bobine ici !
Thank you Roby, wonderfull pics. I didn't expect to see a pic of me on that board.
We had a real fun time in Lausanne. A few words about the show: Midnight Rambler was FANTASTIC!
I have the feeling that Keith's getting better. Ronnie was great (as usual on this European tour). Nothing to say about Mick : He's unique. Love ist strong and Bitch: both songs great in my opinion.
Two hours long, I was on my stony cloud.

Do you mean that Lyon was something near Lausanne in terms of concert ( the 2 cities are close in mileage )

I attended Lyon and Lausanne and taped both shows.
I think Lyon was better, IMHO.

Switzerland - Rolling Stones Special-Edition Cumulus Card

Migros - the Swiss retailer who got the Stones to play in Lausanne next weekend - has released a Special-Edition of its "notorious" Cumulus card. It has a picture of Mick, Ronnie, Keith and Charlie on the front, with the script "THE ROLLING STONES A Bigger Bang - 11.08.2007, Stade de la Pontaise, Lausanne".

You can get a copy of your card by sending an e-mail to M-CUMULUS@Migros.ch

Thought you might like to know. See you guys in Lausanne this weekend.

I also think Lyon was better. It was a real surprise to get "You got the silver" and for me the set list was better in Lyon. Lausanne was a little bit classic but we were "FOS" in Lausanne and the impression was very different then in Lyon. But both were great and maybe this all tour...

Great, great concert. It was a long way from Barcelona to Laussane but it deserves! I decided to go at the last time, because I couldn't wait till Slane.
The weather was fantastic and was great to meet a lot of friends again and do a new ones. Nice to see some of them and myself in the first row of the pic above.
See you in Slane and London!!!

Well, after boycotting the Rolling Stones shows for their exorbitant ticket prices (in Berlin and Dübendorf 2006 we just stayed outside and listened to the music only) I was still quite happy to get a ticket for the 2007 Lausanne show. Thanks to Migros.

Good show, there was beer, and no problem with the toilets which is good to know if you got a weak bladder and can't wait for Keith Richards' bit. It was always possible to circulate on the field from beerstand to toilet back to the standing room. They started out strong with "Start me up", but it was followed by "You got me rocking" which bores me so much, and I don't like "Bitch" either. James B's "I'll go crazy" was percfect, but I thought "I'll go get me some schubling", so I hadn't to stay hungry. But however, the rest of the setlist was a dream - NO "Miss you"! Great!! - instead they played a teethpulling version of "Midnight rambler" and some hot "Sympathy for the Devil". Sometimes the sound was quite garbled and Mick's voice isn't as strong as it used to, but so what. Thanks to Keith for "You got the silver"! He doesn't even need to play guitar anymore these days, through "Wanna hold you" he just hung it round his waist like Elvis, showing off. And thanks to the Stones for "Respectable" on the B-stage - during the song we screamed the lyrics to "Johnny B. Goode" which fitted perfectly well:

Deep down Louisiana close to New Orleans
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens
There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy named Johnny B. Goode
Who never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could play the guitar just like a ringing a bell

Go go go Johnny go
Go go Johnny go

And at the end SCREAM!! SCREAM!! SCREAM!!!! Yeah, baby.

Again another great performance in Switzerland!

Fun day. Woke up early but had to wait for a friend of mine, so I was able to cross the border only at 1 pm. A short stop for a bradwurst and beer in the fantastic scenario of the sempione pass (first time I crossed the pass in day time during the summer - it is a wonderful place).

Traveling by car in Switzerland is not as fast as it is in Italy, so we arrived in Lousanne quite late.

On the spot we realized that getting in would not have been too easy. The quotations from the scalpers were in the range of 250 francs, but people with extra tix sold them for much less. Problem was to find these people before the scalper did!

Well, hats off to these scalpers, they WERE hard competitors. Eventually, after a couple of hours hanging around the stadium with a sign scotched on the chest "NEED TICKETS", I gave up and negotiated a deal for 100 euros.

We got in the stadium that it was already 7 pm. Unfortunately it was too late to contact all the people I wanted to meet. I had my IORR shirt, but apparently I was the only one!

Luckily enough this time there was not a restricted FOS section, so we were able to get a good central spot at 15 m from stage. Could have been closer, but there was a group of beatuiful girls just next to us, so we decided to settle there.

Dandy Warols were, as largely expected, a big load of MTV crap. Absolutely forgettable.

The stones at last.

Thank god they never retire!

Truly a great show. I was truly impressed by the lack of the usual major f.ups ... when 3/4 of the bstage was over, I was starting to believe that this could have been the first time ever I see a perfect performance by Stones. Then came the intro of Honky Tonk women, with Charlie missing the beat, Keith re starting the song and kicking the opening lick when nobody was ready for it ... to put it short, HTW was a complete mess!

Now I recognized the band!

As always, Devil completely killed the momentum of the show. They either have to dump it or change completely the arrangement to something more exciting.

As everybody noted before me, the band played very well. Everybody was relaxed. Big smiles, and all. Special mentions to Ronnie, Silver was absolutely something else! Mick delivered a very physical performance. The great "slim" Lisa absolutely nailed Crazy. She was in a very groovy mood!

One of the best Ramblers I've seen. I like very much the slow section now, great groove from Darryl.

All in all, as I said, a great relaxed show. Not the wildest show I've seen, but indeed a very strong performance.

Again Bradwurst (or, better, saucisse here) and a few beers. All cell phones were either disconnected or not working, so I left without saluting to arrive in Milano at 4 in the morning.

Well, on this very moment a year ago Niels and I where driving back from Lausanne through the Jura with a heaven full of falling stars. What a strange show that was (had to go to the supermarket for it or e-bay for that matter). Remember the banners with the song titles on it?

And I forgot that it was my weddinganniversary. Auw!
