I am seeing Prince there tomorrow night. I'll let you know afterwards. I have heard getting home on public transport is a nightmare. Fingers crossed.

I saw the title of this thread...
At first I thought that you were looking
for an excuse to get out of going to the o2.

English must be totally maddening
to people who don't speak it as their first language.
Imagine if you're also Nelson.

The last train on the Jubilee line for centeral London, leaves at 00.07 am so 11pm get your butt out of the place and to the station in time and you should not have any problems.

I think the problem was that there was more than one event taking place on the night you are talking about.

It is also the norm to take up to and sometimes over an hour to get out of the parking lot after a show in other parts of the country so why the press try to suggest London should be any different, I really dont get it.

Taxi : Book one to pick you up, WHY stand in a line waiting if you know beforehand you want one.
Them blame them for not knowing how many to send.
Duuu.

New venu everyone is on a learning curve.

It's a very long walk to Victoria from the O2. If you miss the last train and the traffic at the O2 is bad, or cabs can't be found, I suggest that you walk into Greenwich, go under the Thames via the Greenwich Foot Tunnel, which is open 24/7 (but the lifts might not be working at that time so you'll have to climb roughly 100 steps up - I've done it many times but never counted!) you'll exit it at Island Garden on the Isle of Dogs and you will catch a cab much more easily on that side of the river, or maybe even a night bus. My brother is a London Cabbie who works nights. He tells me that about 90% of the many cabbies he's spoken with intend to avoid the O2 on any gig night....Prince, Stones etc., as they don't like getting caught in traffic jams because they can make more money on the move around central London. Also, if you have tickets for the 26th, the last train leaves Greenwich North at 23:41

BWT the night buses that serve this area of London are the N15 and the N50, but you'll need to catch them on the other side of the river to the O2 (hardly any night buses run south of the river) and they'll both take you through central London. They're are not as bad as some like to make them out to be and can be quite an experience....and, yes, I've frequently missed the last train home! The N15 terminates at Paddington and the N50 at Trafalgar Square

I think you are heading for Stansted ??,if so you dont need to go to centeral London.

You take the Jubilee line to Stratford tube Station (2 stops from the O2) then you get a bus to stansted bus station is just outside the Tube.

Bus takes 45 min to get to stansted and they run all night.

Buses run 11.55pm 26th 12.40am - 1am - 1.20am 1.50am 2.20am and so on 27th

Service is the A9 or NXA9 and can be found on the National Express website.

You can also use it to get to the O2 from Stansted.

Time table for 26th / 27th

Theres night buses to and from Greenwich, though, arent there?

I'm not too bothered about getting back form the Stones gigs as I'll be stayin in Greenwich, but was concerned more about the Prince after-show on the Friday which might be on until around 3 am.

madmaxx.

cheers for that info, i am heading for stansted, my intention was to get the victoria to stansted 24hr service but have a couple of pints in victoria first.

is there late night pubs open near the 02 centre where i could get the stansted bus instead.

and would this be the same service as the stansted-victoria, victoria-stansted bus.

i would need to know cos i will probably buy return tickets at stansted, i had a price quote of £17.

Is it possible to walk through one of these two tunnels?

You cannot walk through either of the Blackwall Tunnels shown on the map but you can use the foot tunnel from central Greenwich to get to the Isle of Dogs .

Take the 108 night bus outside the Noth Greenwich tube station at 27 and 57 min past the hour (24/7) to Stratford bus station and then take the National Express bus to Stansted.
Or the 25 night bus to the city and west end,or east london.

Unfortunately not, these are not pedestrian tunnels. I was at the O2 yesterday and had a quick look at the bus services. There are 2 bus routes that will ultimately take you to the north side of the river and the are both 24 hour services. The 108 terminates at Stratford bus/rail station and the 188 terminates at Russell Square, which is pretty central for those who need to get back into central London. This bus also stops at Waterloo Station. They both run every 1/2 hour from about midnight until 4am and then become a bit more frequent. BTW the ticket price is £2, unless you have an Oyster card or valid travel card. Hope this helps.

garywho thanks for the info about the 108 night bus.
