Very very lame. And predictable. Stick to Biograph.

I guess the CD might be meaningful to a new fan.........who doesn't already have Biograph.

Same old same old.

They should have put on the "George Jackson" 45. Or at least "Watching The River Flow."

Ok, it's a perfect introduction for the new fan, but Dylan also has a hardcore following who can't get enough of him (myself included), so he should have thrown us a bone or fifteen in the form of some unreleased stuff. Masterpieces had some rarities and Biograph had loads of 'em.

I very much doubt Bob had a lot to do with this 'project' in all honesty. A lot of the fuss over this release seems to be that there was fan involvement in the track selection.

Just seems a very superfluous release. Dylan released TWO 'best of' albums in the first 33 years of his career (excluding Masterpieces which was an Australia/Japan release as far as I recall...and Bigraph which was 1/3 unreleased material). In the last 12 years or so, Sony have really cashed in on an upturn in his commercial standing and put out something like 5 compilations - plus a 'live' compilation released in Japan)

If they had stuck one rarity on there, people would have been up in arms about having to pay for 50 odd songs they already have just for one newie. I think its a pretty comprehensive retrospective - glad to see Good as I been and World gone wrong represented.
Surely its best that he keeps the rarities together in the ongoing "Bootleg series"

I agree. I hate it when record companies repackage old material and put one or two new things on there so hardcore fans feel obliged to buy it.

I also hate it when lesser artists muck around with a perfect piece of music. Go to www.bobdylan.com, enter the site for the new collection and look for this text:

'Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I'll Go Mine)' re-version by Mark Ronson goes to radio globally on August 1st. Hear a snippet of the single before anyone else and let us know what you think.

Yep, I like the tracklist for this one (Brownsville Girl - touche!), but agree there are too many bloody compilations out there. Aerosmith are the worst for it. There are so many Aerosmith "Best of's" that most record stores don't even bother stocking the studio releases any more.
