Has anyone actually contacted the Pilot inn yet and advised them of a larger than usual 'influx' that week?

Might be a good idea to do so and give them good notice...

Gazza, spoke to a lady 5 minutes ago at the Pilot and explained that there will be a large contingent of Stones fan club members attending that weekend.

She was unaware but grateful for the information.

The prices depends on what part of London you are in. If you drink in central London, he you'll pay silly prices. I live in Kent and pint of Stella or Guinness (the 2 most expensive beers generally) tends to cost around £2.80

You mustnt drink in pubs much, 'Lemon'... smiling smiley

probably only about 30-40p more than what you'd pay in a decent pub in central Glasgow, I'd have thought

Stonesrick - thanks for doing that. Much appreciated.

In Rome we paid 5 eur just to get a bottle of Becks out of the fridge ourselves. Only 33 cl. So, in London prices are not so bad after all. 15 beers times 1£/beer more than usual maybe. It won't kill you.

You must have gotten ripped off. We paid that at the show for 33cl of Tuborg but at most places in Rome it was only 2.50 Euros for 66 cl except for around the outside of the stadium where 66 cl were 5.00 Euros. In northern Italy, the same size beer at a store could be had for 1.30 Euros.

My informal research into the price of a pint of beer in a restaurant/bar in Europe uncovered the following: Price in Germany was 2.80-3.00 Euro, Price in Paris 7.00 Euro, Price in Italy 3.00-4.00 Euro. The Italian and German draft beers were a bit smaller than a pint: 40 cl.

So, at 3.20 pounds in London, with the high exchange rate, it is expensive but on par with Paris.

I'd only expect to pay that kind of money in the tourist trap areas like Leiceter Square. I doubt a pint will cost you that in The Pilot. I work in London and drink there frequently. Its not THAT dear on the whole to be honest.

So they ripped me off almost everywhere...Just for the record, I'm talking about prices in a "bar", not the fridge from a store.
