Stones have the angels as Guests at most concerts nothing new in this.

They have also lent the angels stages and equipment in the past and most likely still do.

schillid:>Do you have other pics of the crowd where the IORR shirt is actually visible?<
Sorry schillid, thgis is the only one I have. I was sent this picture by someone else. The only really recognizable IORR- shirt, that's me and some metres out to the right there were three more.

The thrill of being there, and hearing it all, aside, (it was great), why do they always play the songs after Keith`s section in a half-arsed manner?

Once again I tell you this year I only saw them one time..the way they rushed through their horses was a new thing and I liked it! It sure didnt sound old!

Yesterday was fantastic! The whole band was on fire!
I was of course sceptic to Keith, due to the Gothenburg and Helsink shows, but he was sharp as a knife, and totally awesome! Yesterday I felt that it was Keith's show actually.. He did f**k up a note or two on BS, but that's details.

What a great day it was! I'll post some pictures here tomorrow or something I guess..

Highlights: Monkey Man, Bitch and JJF.

So The Stones mingle with people engaged in organized crime? This makes me sick.

Not only engaged in organized crime...some are convicted murderers. I hope it's people in Stones camp that mingles with them and not the band. But anyway they ought to throw these people out of the organisation.
The psychopatic danish killer Jønke were at the afterparty in Copenhagen. He's not good company...and it's bad publicity to mingle with him and others like him.

the relationship between the stones and the angels is interesting.
in london for the hyde-park-concert they were pretty good as a
kind of security.
in altamont not.
didn't the then chief of the angels (sonny barger?) want the stones
to be killed afterwards?
so i find it a bit mysterious why the angels get this special
treatment nowadays.
strange indeed.

I remember from the Gimme Shelter movie, Sonny Barger was angry at Mick (in a radio program). And now some in the band are "very friendly" with some Hells Angels, according to someone above in this thread. This "friendship" my be a result of pressure, but my guess it isn't.

very unpleasant, if true.

It's often been postulated that the Stones rather got the wrong idea about the angels from their experiences of the more benign British and European varieties.

I went to the Kent Custom Bike Show in the 80s
There were live bands each evening.
They had equipment, stage and and a lazer light show which was lent to them by the stones.
It was all organised and run by the Angels.
I think they sold 10,000 tickets or there about.
There were only 2 police wandering around the campsite and show area.
The rest were on the roads giving directions.
No trouble & a real nice vibe.

As to which stage, I cant even remember who the bands were never mind the stage they were on sorry.

Although this is not revolutionary news, it would still be interesting to know what is behind it. Why is the band maintaining a relationsship with the HA? Business motivated, are we talking abt some kind of preassure or is it simply that they wish to keep some of the "bad guys" image from earlier days alive? Anyone that could throw some light on it?

This should give you an idea what I mean.

This weekend another HAMC organised Bash in the UK .

This is an educated guess or two.

1. They are just saying hi to old friends from the past same way any of us would.

2. One or more of the Stones at sometime in the past became a Club member, once you are in, you are in for life .

..uh yeah tomzen, thanks for the fake news.....there's some funny stuff on that site.....

Re: Oslo reports and comments

He he, would of course be the easiest way out to say that I fully realised it was fake. However, why not be honest and admit that I made a quick google search and while I cathed there was some irony in the text, in my eagerness I totally missed that the whole article was fake and ironic. At least that gives me a nice debut on this forum...

To my excuse, my head might still be a little dizzy after the fantastic experience at Valle Hovin, with beers, dancing and shouting together with 40k fellow extatic participants ranging from 7 to 70 in age. Like a time machine, felt like 16 again (which means I must have travelled abt 30 yrs in time).

Still think the link between Stones and the HA as indicted in this thread is an interesting subject, though.

1. With friends like that, one needs no enemys. Feels comfortable being in the audience, really secure...

2. Yes, and there is gold at the end of the rainbow.

Just came home from Oslo, and the show on wednesday was absolutely great! Keith was in good form and rocked all night long! His solos weren't always good, but that was not because of alcohol or any kind of other substances. Just that his fingers can't follow his head anymore.

Best version of JJJ I've heard in a long time! The rest of the set I guess you've already read enough about. Just had to make a little comment.

OK thanks for clearing that up. Sounds a little bizaar. But as long as thier was no trouble, then I guess it's fine.

My 13th show was absolutely fantastic, 12 years since I saw them for the first time at the very same venue! Third row by b-stage, Keith´s side....amazing! Had hoped to hear Bitch again and that was a true highlight. Monkey Man huge surprise. Midnight Rambler outstanding beyond words again. And Keith so clear singing the tune I hoped for the most: You got the silver. Absolutely sweet and touching!

My friend had her finger on Ronnie´s guitar pick, but sadly did not get a full grip of it. But it was a dream being so close to them, and Keith in particular. Sympathy! What more can be said about that song that has not already been stated several times over? Nothing can beat the end of the show: JJF and Brown sugar.

This was in fact one of the best Stones crowds I have been among, and I was quite taken aback by it knowing that my fellow countrymen may not seem too enthusiastic or "emotional" at shows...but this crowd seriously rocked! And it was a young crowd too. :-) All credit to the audience, I am very pleased as I had expected "the worst" (in 98 I had about the same view, few around me then applaused or sang along).

Mick said "Vi ses"! (See ya) at the end, which has me hoping that it will not be another 9 years till we see them here in Oslo again.
