Dave Matthews...do we need him?

´Right now I´m watching the BB DVD and the duet of Let it bleed with DM and for me it´s really awful. This performance is not really inspired and Dave Matthews is looking really crazy and his sounding is not quite good, he sounds like an imitiation of someone...

Im not a big dave matthews fan but I actually like his duets with the stones. No we dont need him, but its nice once in a while to have someone else do a guest spot. I liked his duet on Wild Horses from BTB but this one is better. He's not shy any more and really gets into the song. yeah, his movements and voice are weird but I think it workds, and You can tell he genuinley likes the song. That counts for a lot. He definelty has his own take on the song and I think its cool.

Memory Motel with DM was excellent. An interviewer once said to Keith that he didn't like the versions with DM, but Keith said he liked them.

no, not at all. this guy doesn´t deserve to be on stage with the stones.

IMHO they dont need any guest acts.

Dave Matthews does what he does.

I am not offended or upset by his stuff I just choose not to go out and buy it as it is not my thing.

Am happy he gave David Grey a record contract quite like a couple of his tracks.

Dave is OK with me. His band are all top-notch musicians. Besides, I always liked "Ants Marching". He seems a nice enough guy, and he's also a pretty good actor. His role in "About Winn Dixie" (a family film) was very funny and quirky. No ego at all. He is what he is.

He sucks. I can't stand the fact the stones allow crap like him, Sheryl Crow, Jack White, etc. on stage with them. Hubert Sumlin, yes. Christina Agularia, No.

No don't need or want him! Can't stand his music, I liked the above post who likened him to Hootie and the Blowfish!! TERRIBLE

Some of the pair ups with the stones have been quite good. Loved Bo Diddly when he jammed with them and also Taj doing Correna with the boys is classic!

He blows as bad as anybody out there - the Anti-Mick. He sux. Ruined Memory Motel, my favorite Stones tune with his whiny-ass vocal. Load Cobain's gun and give it to him. They suck equally.

I used to like DM...
Whoever said to put in same category with Hootie I think is right.

I like John Mayer... should he be in that category?

Nah, John's not as whiny. Glad he's went in a more bluesy direction.

The earnest, wimpy, singer-songwriter types really get on my nerves.

Hey Elmo! Memory Motel is right at the top of my list! Along with What to Do! No joke intended. Keith is so cool on both of those tunes. Along with the rest of the guys. No dig the dave but don't give him the gun. Got a game in Athens in mind? Cheers!

Years ago Keith would not have let him anywhere near the stage. Sad turn of events with these freaks they let on stage.

>Sheryl Crow - who can't dance!

Pathetic

.....Sheryl Crow can share my stage any day......and since I don't really have a stage I guess we can substitute a bed for a stage.......yeah that'll work.....

Well I'd rather Christina than Dave Matthews or Cheryl Crow.

Dave Matthews is about as un-rock n roll as you get. Not a fan of his poppy/sensitive music. Don't hate him or anything, just not into it.

And right on with the Hootie and the Blowfish comments, very similar kind of music to my ears.

Well times have changed, never thought you'd see a sappy/pop musician onstage with the Stones. Well they did have Elton John play with them at one show, although he is more rock n roll. What's worse, Matthews or Timberlake...
