How do you think about the Intelligence of Keith Richards??

he's actually an incredibly well read articulate person. He will take the time to dig out the facts if you tell him he's wrong. He has a very impressive and expansive library and spends more time reading that his rock n roll persona would have you believe. Years ago on sk keith he suggested from dawn to decadence- its a magnificent work by one of the greatest minds of our time and well worth a read.

>> incredibly well-read & articulate <<

yep, that's the one all right!

(all the Stones are obviously quite intelligent - not only musically intelligent,
but astute, alert, aware, insightful & accustomed to using their minds.
that was plain right from the get-go, and crucial to what they've achieved.)

Yeah, definitely smarter than his image suggest. Also, more knowledgable about music theory than he lets on.

Agree to all the stuff about "Well read and articulate", but I'm also impressed with his social intelligence and his empathy. He's juest the kind of person friends love deeply and who can not be replaced.

Hugely intelligent and well read. An intellectual. No, I really mean that. Wish he didn't dress like a gypsy fortune teller though.

One of the things that got me into Keith at first, when I was 19 was how much I could relate to him, the fact that he rocked like nobody else and still he'd read very interesting stuff.
I once took a tip off him when he mentioned a book in a GQ interview about 4 years ago.
He mentioned "How He Did It" by Baron Fayn, Napoleon secretary of cabinet, and it was an awesome book.
I gave it to my boss as a present and after a while I got a promotion ;-)

A recent quote from Mr. Watts re Keef's reading habits, "I don't think he reads anything under three inches thick. The thicker they are, the happier he is." (Uncut, July 2007) ;-)
