Thanks Edith Grove! I grew up hearing rumors that the Stones had done a "club" tour of French caves but you're the first to verify it.

this is such bullshit here...anybody who thinks there even WAS a rolling stones prior to mid 18th century dosen't know shit and is a troll and i'm sick of it.

except for a short series of warm up gigs in Scandinavia in 1284 (Erik's pic documents, see page 4) but that was NOT a full on tour; they had barely gotten together...fan enthusiasm is one thing; historical revisionim is another, and frankly, he should know better.

...the first Rolling Stones tour to Canada in 1867 resulted in controversy as Mr Richards was believed to frequent an opium den. However, a lenient judge permitted the band to play a concert for the troops at Fort York, earning the new city the undying loyalty of the young lads...



Several years later, the (still young) lads met a Mr Cohl and history changed forever...

Is that when " Liver Than You'll Ever Be " was recorded ? I always had a feeling Al Capone was involved in bootlegging in one form or another

Naw, Al meant - the Liver will be delivered earlier than you'll ever be at the hospital your supposed to show up...

The earliest known examples from the "Stone Age" tour are very primitive records. Notice that some of the song titles are slightly different from today... while some of the titles are still the same.

well the 1792 tour still gets all the press, and i guess that's understandable; but what gets me is nobody ever talks about the euro leg 1793; they shipped over but it's almost totally ignored, tho generations later people im brussels are still talking about it.

Let's be honest. The reason the 1792 tour has accumulated so much press is because Charlie and Bill were drunk for most of the shows. YOU remember that glazed look in their eyes.
