Their first live album, "Live At The Columbia University" is from that tour. It´s great. Very raw and primitive. Lots of mistakes on it though, they didn´t know how to overdub in those days.

i'll tell you one thing, they sure had guts being a British band playing in the newly formed United States. talk about a rough gig!

another big problem doing a world tour in 1792 was that it took around 7 years. imagine, sailing from england to east coast us alone....and then the tough and hard journey to the LA Forum....

I think some of these concerts were preserved for future listening - by the sing-and-pass-on -method. Still hasn't showed up on liberated bootlegs, but I did hear 2 songs from the opening show - sung by my grandfather

They were getting back to their roots even back then, when they were conquering arenas in America the first time around and around. The boys were all great with their axes back then too. I thought that drummer boy Charlie looked a bit silly though in his bright red jacket. But I must say it fit him very well. Charlie's "really good today" young Mick said as he led his band into the theater.

Their early keyboard player, Wolfgang Mozart, left the band in 1791 (citing the traditional "musical differences") because he did not want to join the American tour, and died shortly afterwards in Vienna in mysterious circumstances....

Keith, as we know, still plays his music sometimes.

Surely this is about the Stones and their early battles. It should be noted however, that there were other acts that supported the eighteenth century British Invasion.

Of course, without the Beatles first infiltrating the shores of America, it is unlikely that the Stones could have rolled through so easily like they did. BTW, we're talking BEFORE the arrival of Sgt. Pepper.
