You know there are six cities in a row starting with "B" during this part of the tour:

- Budva
- Barcelona
- Belgrade
- Bucharest
- Budapest
- Brno

Also, some of these cities have the great river of DONAU - DANUB in common. The show last night was actually right on the riverside and the P1L Ronnie side FOS entrance literally touched the river edge.

smile: there seems to be an epidemic of forgetting one B :E
at first it looked like one B town for each BB album, but then they threw in Barcelona
it is a very charming trail of Bs, though :E

Eh ? forgetting B's ? Can't have this.

B B B B Black Limousine ? B B B Blue Turns to Grey ? B B B B Brand New Car ?

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp !!

Oh help me, please doctor, I'm damaged
There's a pain where there once was a heart
It's sleepin, it's a beatin'
Can't ya please tear it out, and preserve it
Right there in that jar?

Oh help me, please mama, I'm sick'ning
It's today that's the day of the plunge
Oh the gal I'm to marry
Is a bow-legged sow
I've been soakin' up drink like a sponge

"Don't ya worry, get dressed," cried my mother
As she plied me with bourbon so sour
Pull your socks up, put your suit on
Comb your long hair down,
For you will be wed in the hour

So help me, please doctor, I'm damaged
There's a pain where there once was a heart
I'm sleepin, it's a beatin'
Can't ya please take it out, and preserve it
Right there in that jar?

Oh help me, please doctor, I'm damaged
There's a pain where there once was a heart
It's sleepin, it's a beatin'
Can't ya please tear it out, and preserve it
Right there in that jar?

I was tremblin', as I put on my jacket
It had creases as sharp as a knife
I put the ring in my pocket
But there was a note
And my heart it jumped into my mouth

It read, "Darlin', I'm sorry to hurt you.
But I have no courage to speak to your face.
But I'm down in Virginia with your cousin Lou
There be no wedding today."

So help me, please doctor, I'm damaged
You can put back my heart in its hole
Oh mama, I'm cryin'
Tears of relief
And my pulse is now under control

The following text was just added to Belgrade pages:

The names of the band members are spelled special here so that they make sense to read. They are spelled like this:
Mik Dzeger, Kit Ricards, Roni Vud, Carli Vots

Some remarks about the warmup acts:
Elektricni Orgazam was the first of two warmup acts. They were on before 6pm, and many fans were still enjoying food and drinks by the river of Dunab as they were playing. Then next up was The Answer - a band from Belfast. They were on from 7:45pm until shortly before 8:30pm. The vocalist said they were from Northern Ireland, and where they came from they were raised to be loud and so they were!

In addition to the many people that attended the show there were also at least two dogs that came on their own without any tickets or passes. The first one thought The Answer was a bit loud and also it got a bit crowded so leaving for the catering area was a good choice:

The next one came from the VIP area and was encouraged by the security guy in red shirt to join the P1L FOS section as you can see from the picture below. Shortly after the dog moved on backstage as there were probably a lot more food and catering there.

It is not often you see stray dogs at shows, but they seemed to fit in nicely with this nice and gentle crowd.

Maybe the dogs heard that if they get backstage... there's a chance they'll get adopted by Keith ;^)

Hey there! Finally found an internet cafe!
I will write a detailed review a bit later, when I'm back home, just want to say a few impressions. First, the temperature was incredibly high. We arrived right when the gates opened and had to spend some hours in the shade or we would've dropped dead, seriously. Until about 6 or 7pm the area was completely empty and I already wondered about the sales. However, the places was completely packed by the time the Stones came on stage. It was a huge and very young crowd, it was great to see so many people of my age there!

The first opening band, Elektrik Orgazm, was very well received, they played nice Stones-style Rock. Second band, The Answer, really got the crowd going. Singer went down to the crowd, shook hands with everyone and climbed up the barriers. Local security was extremely relaxed and didn't care at all. The Stones security guys (all in black, look like soldiers) didn't look too happy though... I have never seen that many policemen, btw. They must've been in the thousands.

Stones started off well with Start Me Up, but Keith had some real blackouts during You Got Me Rocking. He constantly missed chord changes or forgot what to play. Mick ran over to him and screamed something, pointing with his fingers to his head several times. But well, after a while they were smiling at each other again and the virgin crowd was mesmerized anyway!

I read the reviews here, glad everyone enjoyed it so much! I loved the show as well, but can't help mentioning that Keith wasn't exactly on fire that night. He once said that it is his fingers that remember how to play the songs - these days his fingers sometimes forget. The intro to Brown Sugar was a complete trainwreck.(can't wait for a bootleg...) It took Keith about 1 min, then he got into it, though... And it's so good to see him play JJF - he played the whole song with his eyes closed, just having this aggressive expression on his face and his guitar sounded like a chainsaw. Once he opened his eyes, looking into the crowd - a huge smile just came up on his face and he played yet more focused and concentrated. He certainly loves what he's doing, all of them do.

But they are just not getting younger and at least at this show, Keith seemed a bit off and tired. I didn't write anything about Ronnie yet, that's because I wasn't exactly impressed. But he was fine. Mick is a miracle anyway, but you all know that. Ok, all in all this review perhaps sounded too negative, but I highly enjoyed the show and loved the setlist as well. Some songs just really went great, others didn't, but I decided not to focus on the mistakes too much and I think that's the best way to enjoy the show. Keith is certainly not seriously ill or something, I think just his lifestyle is catching up with him and he aged.

Forgot 2 things: The crowd was so big, when we all walked back the bridge we had to cross started to shake, and it was a huge bridge! First I thought the alcohol kicks in late, then I saw that others were almost falling as well, then we all realized the bride was shaking, really weird!

Other thing, got some clips and pics that I will upload asap.

You're welcome! You'll hear from me from Bucharest then. Will also record that show with my cheap mp3 player. Quality will be horrible, I guess, but perhaps some are interested in it before the pro recordings surface.

This show was beyond words and beyond any description. We were a group of Bulgarians, several buses arrived from there and everyone is shocked after the performance, almost in trance.

I will just write that some magic worked that night!

Some trivia facts:

Stones planted 4 trees in the park.

Several thousand people listened the concert from the fortress accross the river.

New lyrics to All Down the Line:

Yeah, keep the motor running
Hear the children singing
All down the line
Yeah hear the children singing
Keep the motor running
All down the line

Yeah, keep the motor running
Hear the children singing
All down the line
Yeah hear the children singing
Keep the motor running
All down the line

Won't you be my baby for awhile

All the songs were performed with incredible energy. No one can perform like the Stones live. And on this show they did it both with enthusiasm and perfection.

The explosion hit the fans with Start Me UP. No comments are needed here about this song and the way it opened the show, blowing up every one`s head.

You Got Me Rocking was the next blast with Keith`s incomparable solo. The next song was Rough Justice, followed by All Down the Line, great guitars by Keith and Ronnie taking turns in doing the solos.

The next song to my pleasant surprise was DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO (Heartbreaker) which I like a lot. By that moment each song was performed perfectly.

Then came You Can't Always Get What You Want, accepted heartly by the fans who sang together with Mick. It was a long and exciting performance.

After that came another one of my favourite songs - Midnight Rambler, again a very long version (I think even longer than You Can't Always Get What You Want) and again the crowd went crazy. Mick was again astonishing, he did his harmonica virtuoso and to everyone`s joy - his unique funny dances along the stage! This man is so young - running miles, dancing and shouting, he does not belong to this planet.

Then came I`ll Go Crazy, this time it was Mick`s duo with superb Lisa Fisher which charmed the fans.

The intruduction of the musicians followed and the crowd roared each time, I could see Charlie`s excitement to the love expresed by all the fans. When Keith was introduced it was his turn to sing two songs - You Got The Silver and I Wanna Hold You, both performed magnificently and accepted formidably by the fans. I love both, epecially I Wanna Hold You.

The next classic was Miss You and the band moved to the B-stage, where they performed also (blowing up the fans each time) It's Only Rock'n Roll, Satisfaction and returned to the main stage with Honky Tonk Women.

Then it was the time for the culmination of the night. First it was Sympathy For The Devil. Keith did a magnificent brain-piercing guitar solo very simular to the studio recroding. After that the fans went totally and completely crazy when Paint It Black hit with horrible power! And at the end everybody was killed by Jumping Jack Flash. Keith was giving his best solos during these songs.

The last classic song was Brown Sugar and it was the end of the concert which left every single fan there shocked and hypnotized!

It was not only the set list and the perfection in playing but also the energy and contact between the band and the crowd that made the concert unique and unforgettable. It was a perfect proof to anyone who saw it that the Stones are the very best band in the world and no one can get even close to be compared to them. I was in extasy all the time, even hysteria is a small word and cannot describe the state in which I was to see my favourite band so close - eye-to-eye. All the time I was singing, roaring, screaming and dancing like mad (which I was).

All the best to every one and God Bless the Stones! smiling smiley
