With the stage being on the long side and with the "all seated" system, the could be 40,000 - 45,000 approximately...

What a night! Great crowd, fantasic band. Keith on fire. I got all my favourites, except Wild Horses.
I suppse the local security people had listend to withssssul. People from the back stared rushig forwards, and that's petty cary when you're in Row 2, an suddenly there are 100 people trying to take your place. The local security people did not even try to stop the monkees, who came like a flood, behaving like... well, prmates. The guards just stodd there, passive. Lighting up another ciarette. I joined up with somebig American guys, and did the job security shuld have done. We got rid of the intruders, and got our seats back. But they should have been stoppd. They had tickets in other sections and nobody had a look at the tickets to make pople go to the seats they had actually paid for. The chaos was total. However they could not ruin our nigt. Sad though that the stadium was not even close to full. This keyboard still sucks. And we had far too much wine tocelerat a fantasic show~

Oh...I see

Re: Rome show reports

Oh - when I saw that one photo from the first rows on an italian fansite I thought: people are so close - that´s what I prefer, not like in Frankfurt...and I wished I could´ve been there.

But when I read your post it didn´t seem like fun to be front row. Too chaotic is scary, but too controlled ruins the atmosphere.

Bring back the FOS standing!

Re: Rome show reports
Posted by: open-g ()

...and thanks for your fast report, gstone.

so it was quite chaotic with people rushing to the the front - wow, thats the Frankfurt situation rather upside down.

Yeah, Ive ever been scared at a Stones oncert before, but this crowd freaked me out. FOS standing is definitely the best thing. I've been to mot of the Euro shows this summer, ad FOS s theonly thing that works.Gng to lo off now.
We have a briliat show to celbrate - and the best thing is: KEITH was SO GOD. If peope try to tell you otherwise, they are not telling the truth. He even sang well, and rmembere what e has learnedabout microphone technique. And Paint it Black, WOW! There's nothing wrong with or Keith. Except that he seems to be on fire on every freakin how now... Now I HAVE SOME FRINDS AND SOME WINE WAITNG> Good night y'all!

I think Gothenburg will be one of the shows on this tour with the biggest crowd.

Yes, like Slane and Bucherest. But if we are talking about the entire ABB tour, not only about the 2007 leg, then the biggest crowds were Moncton (89,260) and Horsens (84,588).

Keith and Ron both focused and playing like themselves? Sounds wonderful...
Boy I bet "A Bigger Bang" sells truckloads after these shows (sorry, my only sarcastic remark, I really do wish I was there. Last year already seems like a long time ago)
