One of the best Stones shows I ever saw. Anyone else ever celebrate the 4th with the Stones?

I've got a great 18X 24 picture of woody and mick in front of the stage. Woody is wearing all red and mick has white pants with some of craxy colored shirt. I grew up right down the road from the palce.

Also my brother has about 24 colored slides of the show. I've been trying to get the MFer to give me these.

I started that day throwing firecrackers out of the window of The Hilton Hotel downtown Buffalo!

The show started with parachuters flying across the stadium with colored flares!

There were too many Canadians to make it a true 4th of July show.

I had a great time!

Chippy posted some fantastic photos from Buffalo 1978 a year ago,
especially the one, taken a microsecond after...or was it before?...the famous Ronnie/Mick photo from that day

Yes that's the ones - it's such a sight. Some of them classic live photos are freezed moments which was doomed to turn out exactly like that - in one's imagination. Always facinating to it see another angle, or taken immediately afterwards -
I have some of your 78 pics stored, the Philly pics were also terrific

I also was at the show, 7/4/78-right in front of the stage. It was excellent...

that was my first time seeing them although i was not totally impressed with their show, keith lost interest in singing happy and mick had to finish the song, as those were the days when he did not leave the stage for keiths part.
i would love to have a bootleg of that show.
the 81 buffalo show was better.

I was there too. It was my first Stones show and I was kind of disappointed that they played the shit out of "Some Girls". It would have been better at night. Daytime shows really lose their luster. In a big stadium if you can't see the band your lost. No big tv screens then if I can remember and even if there was the glare of the sun would have wiped that out.

But it felt kind of special that the Stones would play my city on the greatest American holiday. What a privilege.

I like Tumbling Dice from this show.....I heard a lot of cherry bombs going of from what i have from this show on boot? Did the crowd do that or was the fireworks on stage?
