It is not the end of the world you know. Keith side and Ronnie side. Seating or not. Same band on stage. May be they have messed up grand way in Rome but still it will be a great show and I am sure everybody will be happy.

I live in Italy but i don't go in Rome to see the guys.
Why?
It's truly absurd to assist to a concert in FOS from seated to the Olympic Stadium.
The Olympic Stadium in Rome !!! ??? FOS seats!!!??? Oh my god...no thanks
the Italian organization is much ridicule, they do not love music, only the money.
I want to pay Eur.500 in a theatre not Eur.180 for a FOS seats in Olimpic Stadium.
I'm very sorry for this, but is this what i think.

Yes, but the prices are "too much"! You know, this "3 gigs in 5 years" would not be that much, if we were talking about UK, France or Spain. But, as 1990 tour showed, fanbase in Italy isn't that huge in order to the Stones are charging prices like these, on their third visit in the last 5 years...

Anyway, enjoy the show! I wish i could be there...

Simple - because they only decide to have pitch seating as an excuse to double the prices.

Its got nothing to do with actually sitting on the damned things.

in fact i just check ticketone.it and there's still tickets available close to the stage but, guess what, you dont know exactly what section (only row and number of seat) so that, as the seating plan is, you could be front row or just end back 30 meters from the stage....ridicolous

Re: Italy 6th July

1 platea is a little bit far away from the stage (left and right but looking from the stage) and they consider the best places
2 platea is actually both right in front of the stage and far away on both sides
3 platea is a little area on the left and on the right of the stage

each platea has SECTION, row and the actual number of the seat

if you go on and select quantity and then "acquista" (buy), just before you actually fill with your cc numbers you have the description of what you are about to buy but they tell you the general area that is for example 2 platea prato sx then row and number of the seat

but that area has 24 sections of which only 4 are actually in front of the stage (A,B,C and D) while the last (V,W,X,Y and Z) are very far away and pretty much on the side...

so you really dont know what you are buying (at least on the website)

if I have a "theatre like" kind of plan I expect to be treated as if i am going to theatre where i can choose on the plan the exact spot i want among those still available...

of course one can try repeatedly until you find something you like....

still i think it is ridicolous

Re: Italy 6th July
Posted by: maumau ()
Date: July 3, 2007 01:07

ok so i was wrong
they actually tell you the section in this form:

seat 16 row 5 2PSB

where the B is actually the section in the platea sx

a little cryptic, isn't it?

so anyway you'll find me there

still they suck for all the other reasons

back in april when the tickets when on sale, we conducted a "full analysis" here trying to figure out the rome seating plan - i think the thread ended up being like 12 pages long ;-) so to get directly to the point, here's a link again to this apparently Top Secret map that stupido ticketone never managed to post on their website:

ps. i'm glad you're going to the show maumau, because, keith is god smiling smiley and yah, ticketone are really teste di...whatever winking smiley

yes it is cryptic, but that's actually quite a good ticket -
Keith's side, second section from the catwalk, right down in front.
here's a larger version of the seating chart that the gallant and glamourous Loochie procured for us back when the sales started

Gazza we all know by now that you don't like seats on the pitch.
I like both: FOS and seats on the pitch. So why always moaning about the seat instead of choosing those shows you have FOS and standing.
In Germany you have know the seated pitch, but all around Germany, easy to reach you can go as you please on FOS.
This is nothng personal. But think about how much money one spends on what and then you should judge yourself.
It is correct that the ticketprices are too high. But they would be also for FOS or Standing. As in timbernardis statement the people should think about twice when making a tour.

where are you from StratoGR ? don't worry about roma, it's pretty safe, well except you have to pay attention to your important belongings because you might get your pocket picked on the bus while gawking at the absurdly beautiful beauty of this city, plus thinkin about the seeing the absurdly beautiful rolling stones smiling smiley anyway, put your important stuff in a money-belt under your clothes (this from another huge thread the other day about european pickpockets...) hey, just hang around with us fellow stones fans - we will protect you !!!!! :-)

I forgot to tell you that I am from Greece.

well, dunno about which hotels are "best", but I know that they're all really expensive anyway winking smiley In the center they seem to be euro 130/night at least, maybe a little cheaper near termini. don't really know much about hotels, i know a few cheaper flats/rooms that i'm involved in renting short-term, but sorry no availability at the last minute...this is high season and it's pretty packed here...
anyway craigslist/rome can be good if someone needs to find a place at the last minute - hmmm, it can be sort of "buyer-beware" though because there's often some exaggerating that goes on about how "close" the flat is to certain famous things in the center, bla bla bla, but some of the places are cheap and seem pretty nice - so if you aren't that picky, it can be okay ! (and then see above for some transport details from harm, or just ask stuff smiling smiley

Like eg. Conrad in Brussels or Amstel in Amsterdam :-)
