I have been a Stones fan since the late sixties and during the seventies I was into lots of bands including Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Santana, Rory Gallagher, Yes plus a few others. Modern day bands do not seem to be anywhere near as good, whether it's just me I don't know but if the Stones finished I really don't know who I would follow, perhaps I'm getting too old and set in my musical ways.

I followed the Ramones like a crazy and look what happened to them!! But they played locally constantly and you could get right up close to the band. Loved those power chords, the volume, the speed....Wonder who THEY stole that from...HA!

I consider those my lost years -- time wasted not attending fully to the Stones!

I'm forcing myself to see some other bands shortly -- The White Stripes, then Amy Winehouse. I know I'll spend the whole night wishing I was at a Stones concert, but...wtf.

I understand the Q as we're supposed to say to which band
we are devoted... On a fan level... Would it be the bands or artists
I love or like, I would have to type all nite...

I guess most of us got the bug early - i.e. around 12-15 when music and groups really MEAN something, man! ;-)

As you grow older it gets harder - and in many cases a little pathetic - to follow so closely one group - in fact I now refer to them as my hobby ;-)

But if I had had the right age I could have seen myself following Oasis - though it gets harder with every release after the first two - or White Stripes who have not yet run out of gas

The Hangmen totally killed on Saturday. Seen them a few times over the years when I was seeing other bands and they were always good but then I would forget about them. Saturday was so amazing though. I think they are my new favorite band.

I don't think there will ever be another band that I support the same way as the stones. There are lots of bands that I love but not in the same way or to the same extent.

If and when they finish, I guess there will be an empty place in my heart. I guess there will still be numerous bootlegs from over the years to collect so that'll have to keep me happy. And hopefully they'll see their way to releasing a few things from the back catalog too to bolster their pensions.

Thing is, the other bands or artists that I would have followed to the same extent as the stones finished a long time ago. For example, Gram Parsons and The Faces. Othere bands like the Who are great, but just not quite the same.

Maybe I'll turn to country full time when the stones stop.

What I really mean't by my question was which modern band that are making new music and are appealing to all the young people would you support?, I can't think of one. When the Stones finish I will have a very large gap to fill in my Musical taste.

I'm not interested in pop-rock music at all.
The Rolling Stones is something else.

The bands I used to see regularily are AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, Robert Plant

I would love to see KISS in France again, they are a great live act

But I don't think I'll go to see Aeromsith again after last week.
They've gotten too "professional". They play really well, but it looks like a show, not like a concert. Their setlists suck big time IMO. They did not take into account that they are touring Europe. Jaded and I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing are NOT songs that deserve a live version IMO. They should have played a few more classics like Same Old Song And Dance, One Way Street...
I would also add that despite being youger than the Stones, they play shorter sets (100 min approx.)

Yeah Adrian the Coral are superb. Magic and Medicine is a great album

There's so much music out there to discover, from all eras.

And its a shame to cast the latest stuff aside by calling it "pop-rock music"

I also like the Coral,great underrated band.
