Any news about this supposed private concert?

Sorry for so many questions but I think many of us would like to know a little more about this. Can someone help?

1) Where it will be, BCN city or perhaps in a castle near BCN?

2) Is it sure for DB or is it a rumour. Some people from DB has no idea of this.

3) How this information was got?

4) If it is planned for 12 July, will there be other Tim Ries cocert in BCN the previous day?

1) No idea. I'd assume in a theatre

2) It's for sure. Not surprised employees dont know about it. Its not exactly going to be for their 'ordinary' staff

3) No comment!

4) Apparently so

Somewhat ironic choice of date, too. The 45th anniversary of the band's first ever concert and theyve gone from playing blues covers for a disinterested audience to playing a corporate gig for what will probably be an even more disinterested audience!

Thank you Gazza.
I am curious about N. 1 and N.3 and also how and when this will be announced. I assume the possibilities to attend the concert will be almost zero, but...

As its a private show, the possibilities would be almost zero for employees, and less than zero for the rest of us, I would think.

I dont think it really NEEDS to be announced as such, other than to the lucky few who are invited or eligible to attend.

On two how right you are.

More like the Banks most important customers are invited to this not the staff.

maybe, but I'm sure the upper echelons of the company's management would be in there too

I'd like to see the reaction of this audience if the stones would sing "yellow submarine"

The state Kieth is in, it will suprise me he wont offend someone in the audiance. I saw him up and close in NIjmegen and Madrid and believe me (we all know there is something wrong with him) but apart from that he was pissed, pissed, pissed. He was leaning on the right catwalk barrier to say hello to the crowd when his elbow slipt.....embarrissing. I've been having fierce discussions with friends about him. They say, respect him, let him die in battle. I say; keep on playing keith, but not in stadiums anymore. Do small venues only, once in a while.
Anyway, there definitly something very wrong with the stones playing in front of bankers. Right.

Actually, that's the only part of this that bugs me...couldn't care less if they are playing a private show, but on this specific date, 45 years on...I just think it should have been a club gig on this night, do the corporate show some other time.

must be one of those 'gay' hotels?

Re: Private gig in Barcelona next month

Nope. It's not a gay hotel. I mean exclusively gay, of course.

It's one of the most expensive hotels in the city, which was built just before the olympic games.

Now I'm trying to become a flea or an ant to be able to enter the concert.
Bit difficult

I was joking, mate because Ars sounded like 'Arse'..

Its a Ritz Carlton hotel, so obviously quite a high-brow place.

Some of the reviews on tripadvisor are pretty dire on the whole for that hotel.

The prices they charge £340 per night for the cheapest room threadbare towels and €11 for a beer + €20 for a Pizza which took them approx 1 Hour to serve Lol would not be me staying there.

It also said Traffic noise on the 5th floor was really bad.

So looks like the sound proofing is not up to much, maybe people standing outside will be able hear the concert.

There is a hydralic service elevator straight in to the Gran Saló Gaudí for their eqipment but I expect security will be tight.

The Rolling Stones playing live always sounds like a great thing to me. I don't care for who where or why, just as long as there is music coming out of them. It will all end soon enough. Enjoy it while you can. Anyone hear anything about it being an acoustic set?

I have never felt the need to post on here to rant before, i have seen many Stones gigs in the past 17 years and they have never let me down - i have enjoyed reading the banter on here as well.

But no one can spin this in a good way,as far as i'm concerned - we are not talking about every other tom dick or harry group here. Forget fat Reggie Dwight , the Eagles, Madonna, Sting or any other jokers they are an irrelevance - they do not compare - this is The Rolling Stones!

Is Mick just trying to prove a point that it is now all purely financial? "Don't be idiots, It's all about the money, the sponsers, the rip off live cds , the 4 disc dvds, forget the soul of the music? So We can't sell out stadiums anymore,There's no more expats to pay £400 a ticket in China? Well we'll flog ourselves to corporate bankers in that case, then we'll hit our projected financial targets" And where is Keith in this?

I have two gigs left, 02 and Slane - they can have my money but this is no longer the band i fell in love with.

It's just a shame. I can't believe how people can still argue that it's basically a good thing, etc.
It's just disgusting, right now I'm really angry at them...
