Hello all!

The stadium sales will be around 30.000 of 47.000 total.

It is the first time (in 5 shows done in Portugal: 1990-1995-2003-2006) that the Stones will not sell out the venue.

But otherwise, I am waiting for a great gig beacuse tradionally portuguese audiences are very warm and sing-a-long, so I hope they will be motivated to give us a great live performance!

See you tomorrow at the Brasileira Café in Lisboa! (I will be there from 13h30-14h00)

Bet regards!

Alvalade - 23:18

A lot of people working there.

Plenty of trucks near the stadium. It seems everything is ready.

I would like to share a beautiful photo of the stadium I've taken an hour ago from the window of my living room. Someone help me, please?

Wow you are close to the stadium ig

Re: Lisbon

The promoters reduced the capacity of the stadium from 45.000 to 30.000 due to poor sales.so they put the stage more to the middle of the pitch.Even so they arent so many bands who can assmble a crowd of 30.000 nowadays. excp probably U2 if they didn t tour Europe two years in row.

Didn't they play Porto last year ?

Re: Lisbon

Yes, they did. The satadium was full, like in Coimbra in 2003. In that year the concert sold out in about one week.

Story of the Stones (in Portugal):

1990 - Alvalade Stadium (Lisboa) 60.000 people (Sold out)
1995 - Alvalade Stadium (Lisboa) 60.000 people (Sold out)
2003 - Coimbra Stadium (Coimbra) 45.000 people (Sold out)
2006 - Dragão Stadium (Porto) 47.000 people (Sold out)
2007 - Alvalade Stadium (Lisboa) 30.000 people :-(

Untill late 90´s I think that there were no rules to G.Admission on the pitch, now, I know there´s an official limit.

See you Later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont think they sold out in 95 or last year. In 95 there were many empty seats.

"Poor sales everywhere...really sad."

Come on, TooTough... This moaning becomes insufferable. Even the words you use remain the same... No, the sales ARE GOOD considering not only the prices (which is a very annoying, bad choice, of course) but first of all the fact that they visited Portugal in 2003 and 2006. As you know, Portugal isn't a big country. After two so succesful potugal gigs in 2003 and 2006, why on earth attracting 30,000 people, with expensive (unfortunately) prices, is a bad figure ?

Some people are ratting the things in a very strange way. By a very strange logic. In Spain, where the Stones did four succesful shows in 2003, in addition now they had to fight against a very bad atmosphere created by the cancellations. There were even articles supporting the idea of doing a boycott. And finally the band will have in Spain attendance bigger than 1998 attendance (then Gijon gig had been cancelled due to slow ticket sales). Why on earth is poor a total number of 150,000 - 170,000 in Spain? Which exactly logic by? If the Stones were doing only one gig for 52,000 in Barcelona or Madrid selling out fast, that would be more remarkable?

I can't believe this groundless moaning... Another example: after having played in front of 84,500 people last year, the Stones visit again Denmark. They have already sold 30,000, they are probably attracting 120,000 - 125,000 people during ABB tour in a small country like Denmark, but some guys still consider the sales as "problematic", there! Are we serious?

Yes, in a few overplayed places like Germany and Holland the market is VERY satured, indeed. The Stones have played to death there. But even in these cases i don't see something "sad". I'm hearing the same talk about "bad sales" since the start of ABB tour, in Boston. But the band has attracted 4,000,000 people so far- not including Rio's gig. So "bad"...

Portugal is in the same time zone as England. So it depends when they hit the stage. If it's 9pm local time they should be out any second. But if they decide to start at 10pm (like in Spain) then we have to wait one more hour.

latest word from Gazza on Rocks Off seems to imply that they should start in 15 - 20 minutes.
but he looks nicely plastered in the photos from the front lines, so grains of salt may be recommended :E
